Beach Club rooms

I want to stay at either the Yacht or Beach Club to experience their amazing pool for an upcoming trip. I really need a king bed so I figure my best bet is booking a room that comes with one since I never seem to get that request fulfilled in a normal room. I don't think Yacht club has any king rooms that I can book?

For Beach Club there is a One-Bedroom Suite in the main building that will have club level access or a one-bedroom villa. The Villa would be cheaper, but I like the idea of being in the main building. I've never stayed in a club level room before so I'm not sure if the added expense is worth it.

Has anyone stayed in both? Or have an opinion of which they think is better?

I went to the main YC/BC thread to get the link for you. That is the best place to get an answer to your question.
But then I see that you asked the exact same question there.
It seems like overkill and forum clutter to me. IMHO
I never seem to have people answer questions like this when I've posted in the hotel specific forums so I thought it would be easier in a separate thread.

If you are looking for a guaranteed king bed then you will get that in the 1br villa at the BCVs. You will also get a full kitchen, living room, washer and dryer, a large soaking tub and a separate shower. You can't guarantee a king bed at the Beach Club or Yacht Club.

I have stayed in the villas three times and have loved it every time. I've never stayed club level at YC or BC.

I have stayed in a room with a king bed in YC so I know they have them but I didn't request it and I'm pretty sure you are going to be told it's just a request and not guaranteed. I've stayed in club level at CR but not at BC, for us, it wasn't worth it and it was actually an upgrade so we didn't pay for it. I can pay for breakfast and a drink for a lot less than the per night fee of club level. The rooms aren't really any different than the regular rooms. As far as the villas not being the main building at BC, it's just a 1 minute walk, if that.

The DIS moderators have decided that if everyone "thought it would be easier in a separate thread" and posted new threads, the forums would become a bloody, jumbled mess and it would be impossible to find any information. Thus there has been an organization of information created.
I personally, feel that is a good thing and try to adhere to those desires. As I said, JMHO

That's good to know it's not too far. I really didn't like having to walk outside to the outer buildings at the Grand Floridian so I wasn't sure what the distance was like. I do think the villas look really nice.

You will walk outside but if I'm not mistaken (and could be) there is a covered walkway between the gift shop and the villas.

We've stayed at both BC and BCV and I really love BCV over the main building. It's quieter and the layout is not as confusing. (I've actually stayed at BC 5 times and got lost during our last stay there, LOL!) BCV is literally right across from the Marketplace and actually much closer to the park buses (if you are going to MK or AK). There is also a side path that leads out to the EP bridge. It's just so convenient and much quieter at BCV. If you can get the king bed and save some money, that's bonus, IMHO!! I personally love the villas over the suites because of the kitchen and W/D (which you may not need). With the money we save over staying CL, we have groceries delivered and stock our fridge and have our own little CL set-up in our room. And, yes, as PP's have mentioned, there is a covered walkway between the gift shop and the villas.

When checking in do you go to the main building if you are staying in the villas or do they have their own check-in area? I don't think I need club, having never stayed its not something I would miss. I've stayed at a few villas now and love them. I also like the paint color on the villa building (odd thing to like I suppose lol) I barely eat breakfast so I'm not sure the food that comes with club would really make a difference. The villa would save me $400 which would be really nice too lol.

I haven't stayed at the villas at BC but have at AKV and BWV and you check in at the front desk.

I never stayed in the villas but did do CL at BC- not that impressed.
However the pool area is Very Impressive!

We stayed at the Yacht club and did not get our request of a King Bed. I did a lot of looking around and the Beach Club Villas seem to be a great option for you. We have stayed at the Poly Club Level and really didn't think it was worth it. The breakfast was not anything great and was very crowded and we were out at the park for most of the night so it wasn't worth it for us. I might splurge if you plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel but for the price, you could stock up your 1 bedroom Villa and still come out ahead money wise.

We checked in at the main front desk. Yes, save the $400!

We have stayed club level at the BC, but I have never stayed in the villas. I will say that we enjoy CL and especially on our last trip, CL was pretty impressive in terms of service and staffing. The lounge is large, airy, and welcoming. The selections of food were varied and fresh. But it was teh CM's who made such a difference there for me. They were all friendly and helpful, and made the trip even more enjoyable.

I stayed at BCV in November and it is a very easy walk to the main building. 1-2 minute walk with a covered walkway :). I find BC to be very confusing - I also got lost. So I appreciated the villa being a straight shot! As for the pool ... honestly, I don't get all the excitement over stormalong bay. We had two resort days and it is... a pool. It's nice enough but I stayed at BC because of the pool and we were all disappointed. It's a lot smaller than I was expecting. It's a nice hotel and I would stay there again but I would not stay there just for stormalong bay. I think the Poly pool / restaurants / bar were far superior when we stayed there 2 years ago. Just my 2cents.

Ya I have yet to have my king bed request fulfilled at any hotel. I just wish there was a cheaper option for booking kings. I do like the villas and all the space you get with them.

I'm glad the villas aren't too much of a walk from the main building. I do like Poly, but I'll never stay there. I learned from my last stay at Grand Floridian I don't like the hotel rooms being in a separate building from the main building. But last year I spent the day at Poly and thought the pool looked awesome.

King room is a bookable category at the Moderates. Definitely cheaper.
