Hi. I'm seriously considering the Beach Club for our next trip. Anyway, I remember reading that not all the BC rooms have balconies...are those rooms w/o balconies in any way larger because of the missing balc.? Or is it just like any other room, but with a window there?? I really like the look and location of this resort, but I'd hate to pay the deluxe price and not get a balcony. Any thoughts??

I've only stayed at the BC once---this was last summer. I was told on these boards last year, that all rooms have balconies---but, some are very small. It was suggested that I request a "full balcony". I had a standard room reserved and requested "woods view" because I didn't want a "parking lot view". I was hesitant to ask for the full balcony on top of the woods view because I thought it might limit my choices.
Well...I got the very tiny balcony and woods view. When I say "tiny"....think one person can stand out there alone. No chairs.....
Here's a pic of our balcony (well...it's really our neighbors because it is so small, I needed to snap it from a bit away)and view :

Now our neighbors to the left had the fuller sized balcony, as you can see chairs on theirs :

But honestly, I didn't think there were any rooms with no balconies....someone correct me if I'm wrong about this ?

I don't think the rooms are any larger. Many have day beds, but it doesn't seem to tie into the balcony size. We had two connecting rooms and my only request was to be away from the parking lot. Our rooms were on the first floor on a quiet courtyard. Each patio had a table and two chairs. We really enjoyed the extra room on the patio. First time I've stayed on a ground level, and next time I stay there, I hope I get the same location. BC is a fabulous resort. :)

All rooms have balconies ... some are large with two chairs and a table and some are tiny (called standing balconies). The rooms with the standing balconies are not larger than the rooms with full balconies. Whether the rooms are standard view, water view or suites, some of each have full balconies and some of each have standing balconies. If a full balcony is your #1 request, then put that in as your #1 request and when you check in, try to check in early in the morning (between 7 AM and 10 AM) and when you are checking in just tell them that you don't mind waiting for a room until 3 PM, but you really really really want a full balcony. If you can be there early in the morning, most of the time you will get your full balcony although the room might not be ready early too. Just keep in mind that if you book a standard view room, your full balcony might be with a view of a roof or parking lot. Personally I never sit on the balcony. As long as I can look out the window and see something pretty, that is more important to me so when I book a standard view room, the view (woods versus parking lot and roof) is more important and I don't mind a standing balcony. If a large balcony and a beautiful view is important, then you should definitely consider booking a water view and then making the full balcony your #1 request!!

We must have a full balcony or patio - so we always request it and we've never been given one of those standing balconies. Just be sure to put it on your reservation and fax in a request a few days prior.

We have also had good luck getting the full balcony. The one year we did not, we switched rooms. We like to sit out in the morning and again in the evening. Request "full balcony" and hope for the best!

Every one here is correct. All the rooms have balconies but some are the smaller "standing room" balconies.

I was on the phone yesterday with a very nice CM that told me there are no full balconies in standard rooms at the BC?:confused3 Huh??? She said there are only full balconies in conceirge???

I was there last year, I saw full balconies on other floors besides 5 (conceirge) What the heck???

I'm quite certain that CM is wrong. I have heard that the full balconies are scattered throughout the hotel --on varying floors.

If the balcony is important, and to me it is,go to the Yacht Club. The BC&YC are really the same, with different decor. Both are great resorts, but you always have a balcony at the YC.:thumbsup2
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

. . . We must have a full balcony or patio . . .

1) This is America.
2) It is a free-will and democratic country.
3) No one "Must Have" or "Must Do" anything.
3) Except maybe pay "some" taxes.

PamNC : and fax in a request a few days prior.
I didn't think disney even accepted fax requests anymore ? I thought that was a thing of the past ?

The previous posters are correct -- there are definitely standard rooms with full balconies. We had one in May. :)

If I were staying at the BC, I would try to stick with the 1st or 2nd floor only. Once you get beyond that, the number of standing room only balconies and dormer balconies does get greater. Not to alarm you, but a few of the rooms on the upper floors come with double beds and not queen beds. I think the largest balcony actually belongs to room #4532. I don't know what the bedding is in that room though. If a full size balcony is that important, I would make the switch to the YC if you can.

Here's an older layout of the BC, but it's a good reference point, http://www.disneyzone.net/bcresort.htm.
