Although we have stayed at WDW many times, this will be our first time at the BC ( in just 6 days!!!!! :dance3: ). I have a few questions for those of you who are experts. How is the marketplace? Is it a combination store and snack bar? I see that you can buy breakfast snacks and lunch there. Does anyone know if you can use the snack dining plan there for things under $4.00? How are the standard rooms? Is any room location better than others? Thanks for your help.

try for an epcot view with a standard room. otherwise you might be looking at the BCV or parking lot.

yes the market place is on the DDP.

Keep in mind that not all rooms have a full balcony. Some just have the door that leads to metal bars. If that makes a difference to you. We stayed on the 2nd floor and I loved it. We just went up the grand staircase and down the hall. The resort if full of winding hallways so maybe ask for a room close to the elevators. One room they wanted to give us was down hall after hall and I was lost just getting there. We didn't specify a view but we looked out onto one of the back walkways, wooded area very nice. Enjoy!

We stayed in the Villas last June, 2005 so I am unable to help you with standard room views at the Beach Club. I can say, however, that the Marketplace does have a little bit of everything in it. It's like a White Hen Pantry. You can buy anything from gelato, t-shirts, sun screen, fresh fruit, milk, pastries, salads and fresh sandwiches.

The marketplace has salads, sandwiches (breakfast and others), and gelatto. There are also refrigerated areas where they sell frozen pizza, lunchmeat, cheese, etc. They have bread, PBJ, boxes of doughnuts, chips, etc. This is also where you can refill your refillable mug.
The only food I've eaten there are a roastbeef and brie sandwich on baguette, pistacio gelatto, iced tea, lemonade and coffee. Also in the store are the gifts, clothes, and mugs to purchase. As info, I did enjoy my sandwich.
The service is slow if there are alot of people in line for sandwiches and salads but refilling a drink is convenient.
If I'm purchasing gifts, I walk over to the Yacht Club side because their gift shop is much quieter, has a few different items, and doesn't have the fresh made food (which is why it's quieter). I don't know about using snack points to eat there since I've never been on a dining plan.

As to the rooms, they are pretty standard. You can get a king, two queens, two full and I believe all have a daybed. The rooms are a little larger than some of the other moderate and value resorts but to me the room is a room and nothing spectacular unless you're accustomed to staying in value motels (I don't mean to be snooty here, I'm just trying to offer a comparison).
Room locations vary from water views, parking lot views, garden/walkway views or SAB view. I've never had a SAB view and was considering to request this for my upcoming trip but some of the SAB views look very blocked by rooftops that are over Beaches and Cream. If you want to see the layout, go to http://www.disneyzone.net/bcresort.htm. It shows room numbers, where they have balconies, etc. We've had water views that were 1) near the back main entrance 2) over the volleyball court 3) near EPCOT and the stairs that exit to the side walkway (I like this because we frequent EPCOT alot and could just walk to the stairwell and up two flights to our room.

My only request for my trip next week is for a full balcony. I suppose the only disappointment I'd have is with a room that was over the main entrance facing the parking lot. Other than that, I'm going to wing-it. I think it would be nice to have a standard view near the walkway close to EPCOT.
The rooms on the top floor seem to have dormers giving the room an attic feel but I'm not sure if all rooms on the top floor are like this. It almost doesn't matter where you are as far as close to EPCOT, the lobby, elevator, etc. No matter what there's going to be a long walk somewhere if you're going to the giftshop, pool, Cape May, EPCOT, Boardwalk.

This is our favorite resort because of the location. I hope you have a great time and get to enjoy SAB!

We usually request a room on the second floor near the elevator. The hallways can feel like a maze sometimes!
