Can anyone tell me if everyone in the POOL AREA (lounge chairs, etc...) need wrist bands? OR is it to ENTER the pool wristbands are required??

When we were there we had to show ID just to get in. They had a cast member posted at the entrance.

Yes, IDs are checked by a CM at one of the entrances and you will be given wristbands and towels.

The info you've gotten about the wrist bands is correct if you are talking about SAB. If you just want to go to the quiet pool, there is no wrist band/ID check there.

:thumbsup2 So true......I just assumed SAB, but there is also the 3 quiet pools (no wristbands required).

You are correct I was asking about SAB. I was wondering if we were able to have guests visit us BY the pool. Apparantly not!

Yes everyone in party has to show the room id and then rec your wristband. When we were there, a nice elderly gentleman from our area of the suburbs of Chicago was doing the wristbands...well it took him at least 5 min pp to put one on because he liked to blah blah blah!! They had to call in back up because the line was getting so long  Oh you will also get towels at the same time
Enjoy it is the best pool I have ever been too (but I didn't care for BC :sad2: )

Mudman you will not be able to have guests enter the pool area to sit in lounge chairs and visit.
The check is to enter the area. It is completely fenced in.
How in the world would they ever check a person as they entered the pool itself, and why would they want to do it that way anyway?. :confused3 The restriction is the pool area, not the water.
Have a Great Trip.

I have had a completely different experience there. Twice now, we have arrived at the pool, fully clothed, and asked if it would be okay if we just sat there for a bit. No problem at all we were told. Last Jan, during Marathon Weekend, my dd and I were waiting for my dh to get to YC to checkin (he was staying there, while we had arrived at POP the day before), and plopped ourselves down in two chaises in the pool area. Now, they were't near the water, in fact they were towards the rear, closer to the resort. The CM handing out wristbands had no trouble with that.
I just wouldn't expect to show up in a bathing suit top and shorts, with a towel over my arm and expect to be allowed in with no resort key. But, jeans, sweatshirt and sneakers? Guess that was okay.

Can you get to Beaches & Cream for lunch if you are not staying Y&B? Isn't the entrance inside the fenced area?

B&C access is no problem. The diner (I refuse to call it a restaurant) entrance is along the 'porch' area, outside the SAB concrete pool area.

No, the entrance to Beaches and Cream is not within the gated perimeter of SAB. There is a sidewalk which goes all along the outside of BC/YC. If you are coming from Epcot, take a right and go up the big, wide path to the BC. Then when you get to the building go to the left. The sidewalk will take you over to Beaches and Cream. Even Hurricane Hannah's is not within the actual pool area, so anyone can eat there as well.

If you want to be near the pool area but not in it, there are rocking chairs along the walkway near YC that give you a view of the pool, as well as small tables outside B&C (great place for an ice cream cone and a chat). If you won't actually be using the pool while visiting with your guests, why not go down to the beach area? There are usually a few lounge chairs down there, and no ID check. It's very relaxing to sit and look across at BW/BWV. I try to avoid the pool area unless I'm using the pool so I don't accidentally sit in a wet chair.
