Beach Club and the Poly are great resorts and are very different. How long are you staying? Would a split stay be a possibility? That way you could experience the advantages of both.
The BC is my first recommendation for young people without children. It is so nice to walk to Epcot or DHS, (or use the boat when tired for DHS). You almost feel like you are staying in Epcot, the BC is so close to the IG entrance. The pool at the BC is perhaps the nicest on property. The location is good so the bus to the MK or AK isn't long. If you have park hopper tickets, then WS in Epcot offers multiple great ding options. Evening entertainment across at the BW or in Epcot is wonderful. Interior corridors allow access to the lobby, shops and dining without going outside. It is nice to walk around the lake to check out the other Epcot area resorts.
The Poly has wonderful grounds with lots of foliage. With the tiki torches lit in the evening it is very romantic to stroll around the grounds. You can walk to the GF along a lovely walkway to enjoy the amenities there or take the monorail to either the GF or CR for other dining options. The MK is a monorail or boat ride away. Rooms here are in outer buildings so you will have to go outside to get the the lobby or dining. Watching MK fireworks from the beach here is a fav activity when staying at the Poly. WE love staying in a resort with a view of the castle. It is truly magical!
These are 2 of our personal favourite resorts in WDW. You really can't go wrong with either one!
have fun choosing!
THis sums it up in a nutshell. I love both resorts, and tend to book BC on an adults trip, and Poly when the family is along. My DD and her DH prefer the Poly so we stay there when they are along, and it is a stunning relaxing stay. Once you get away from the GCH you are in the middle of a restful tropical paradise. I find th elobby very busy, but it is part of the Poly atmosphere. Transportation is easy to all parks IMO, including DAK, of course you have to hop on a bus, but that's a part of WDW vacationing, buses take you everywhere! LOL!
Now the BC. Oh what a lovely bright and airy resort! It takes you right into the hustle and bustle of a summer stay at the beach, complete with the sounds and smells of a perfect day on the beach. YOu need to take a bus tto MK and DAK, but again, I treat the transportation as part of the stay. Personally, for a young adult trip Iwodul choose the BC, and enjoy all of the activities within walking distance of the room.
