For an upcoming trip, we have a 1 bedroom booked at beach club, April 1-9 for flower and garden.
Our guest list is fluctuating.

For the first night we'd have 5 people, and an infant. Then for the remainder we would predominantly have three adults and the infant. Maybe four for a few nights, but that's uncertain.

My question is, if I bring an air mattress for the first night- will that be ok? Or to cramped?

I am debating getting a two bedroom AT AKL KINDANI OR TWO STUDIOS AT POLY, for the first night only. But thinking it will be a PITA to move and disappointing to not be at our coveted beach club......

From what I can find you will have too many people the first night. On line it states a one bedroom holds 4 adults plus and infant. So you cannot book it for the first night, it won't be allowed.

Are you asking about BC Villas or a 1 bedroom at BC Resort? I think Villa but you are not clear.

They provide beds for 4 adults plus and infant, and will allow for five, but you need to provide the linens for the fifth- I.e bring an air mattress.

Why not have the extra folk(s) book their own room or go to the Swan or Dolphin?

Even if allowed, no way could I sleep with so many crammed in one villa. Not my idea of a vacation.

Cash bookings only permit 4 plus an infant. Points bookings allow 5 plus an infant, but do not provide bedding for the 5th.

The rules are different on cash.

This. Are you on points or did you book a cash reservation? I assumed cash, but probably shouldn't have.

At any rate, I think it would be cramped. But I guess it depends on how well everyone gets along, where the infant will sleep and how well the infant will sleep.

And I believe the difference for the rule variance is because Disney won't bring roll-aways to BCV. Cash visitors expect a bed for every occupant. Ownership bookings on points work differently.

It's only one night, the first night. Our friends will need to stay because they are bonnet creek timeshare holders, which unlike DVC only allows you to book a week at a time- so Sunday to Sunday. We arrive Saturday.

Otherwise we will be three adults and a two year old. The two year old either sleeps with us, or my mother. So he's a non issue.

I'm a DVC member so I booked with points. It's a 1 bedroom, not a studio.

For 1 night I would just deal with it but I hate moving resorts.

I understand it is a 1 bedroom, not a studio.
But where are 5 adults going to sleep. So you and your DH and 2 YO in King bed in bedroom. 2 Adults on Queen pull out. 1 adult on the floor?????
How does that work????
And yes on points you are allowed 5, but you must supply the bedding and linens,

Does Beach Club have the new fold down bed? If not, DVC members are allowed to bring air beds.

You'd be surprised at how many college students can fit in one room. I know it is against policy and it has been over 20 years. But, you can fit a lot.

The new Pull Down beds are only in studios. Beach Club studios do have them. 1 BRs do not.
Shipping an air mattress will work, but not be very comfortable, IMHO. You will also need to bring/ship sheets, blankets, pillows and towels for the 5th guest. Is your mother going to end up being the odd one out and therefore on the floor? That is even harder for an older adult.

At the same time you would risk everyone getting kicked out and losing whatever money you had tied up in the resort. Not that his applies to the OP if they have booked on points.

I'm confused--is it 5 adults for 1 night then 4, or is it 3 adults for the rest of the time? Who all is going, and who is close enough they could share the fold out without trouble?

It is a PITA to move, but I don't see why the extra adults don't look into booking the Swan or Dolphin, to have real beds plus a bathroom. Only one shower and toilet - many folks would find that uncomfortable. They're going to have to move to their timeshare anyway, so why not get their own room to begin with?

I've stayed in the one bedrooms, and with the sofa sleeper opened up, there really isn't room to put a twin mattress down.

AKL Kidani one bedrooms have the sofa sleeper and chair sleeper, which we used last spring for my kids. When they're opened up, you have literally NO room in the living room. It wasn't planned that way (DS joined us last minute), and I wouldn't do that again.

It sounds like they are shipping down an air mattress.

For us, we would take it in the car. We also have an air mattress bed frame. It lifts the mattress up off of the floor. But either way, I'm sure that they will work it out.

I couldn't see booking another hotel for one night because they couldn't figure out who is on the air mattress.

I thought the one bedroom villas that officially slept four allowed a fifth person of any age, but not a fifth person of any age plus a child under the age of three (meaning six people in the official sleeping four one bedroom). Your friends could book one night for cash at either an offsite hotel, Swan/Dolphin, Disney Springs hotel, etc.
