We were in BCV unit 233 (2 BR, 2Q) for 5/15-5/20. Room was clean but obvious wear in the kitchen/living area. This unit has an large balcony (castmember room next door) with good view of fireworks (higher would be better). It was slow and we could not get in until 3:59 - room was obviously pre-assigned. All around we were quite happy with the room and the weather.

DDE worked great. Did not have the card yet but letter worked fine. We used this ten times and saved over $200.

We will be at BCV next month  !!! I can't wait to go back again. I also purchased the DDE. I'm glad to hear it was worth it. Saving 20% on not only meals but drinks as well is a huge savings!

Hi,

Glad you had a good time!!!!

How close was 233 from SAB, Epcot entrance and so forth. We love Beach Club, but tend to never stay there because some of the rooms are a significant walk back and forth from EPCOT.

Thanks :goodvibes

Why do you say that? Often we have checked in and not been able to get our room until close to 4:00 and the room was not pre-assigned, as we were given a choice as to floor, etc. Did you ask at check-in? More and more they seem to be going by room-ready unless you prefer to wait for a specific location. If you had a fireworks view, then there probably weren't any other rooms available.

No, resort was not busy and getting another room was not an option. I asked and was assured it was pre-assigned.

Not sure I follow? Any villa at BCV is closer to EPCOT than any other DVC resort, right? I suppose you could make a case that the closest BWV room might be about the same as the farthest BCV room but I'm not certain that even this is the case. We own at BWV and find either resort to be within easy walking distance to EPCOT. You do need to walk through the lobby to get there but it's not far.

I don't know if true but have heard from someone in business say if you have to discount you have overpriced it.

I remember reading about this somewhere. I just searched dvcmember.com and waltdisneyworld.com high and low and can't find any details about it. Can you send me a link to somewhere with more information on it? Are all WDW food establishments included? Is there a list somewhere?

Sorry it's off the original topic, but this interests me! Thanks!

It's available to Floridia residents or anyone that has an annual pass for WDW. Normally it's $75 but there's a special now for $50 for a year and it get's you 20% off on food and drinks (booze included) for most site down restraunts in the resort.

Since the OP booked a 2 bedroom 2 queen option at BCV the room was most likely pre assigned as they are only 25 such rooms at BCV. 2bed 2queen once booked is not a request, it is seprate catagory like Boardwalk view at BWV.

We had room 233 in February. We loved the room for the balcony.

Our room was also preassigned. We were told it was preassigned because we were a "family group" (my brother was staying in a studio). She told us that family groups are preassigned so they are close to each other, and they try and give one of the rooms a bigger balcony.

It certainly worked for us--we had happy hour out on the balcony every night :)

WHAT? It isn't really a discount in this case. It is more of a perk if you have purchased an AP. Disney does not need to discount anything to make money IMO. They are as a company very fair IMHO. They could offer no discounts and really gouge for food and drinks. I just don't think prices are out of line for anything at Disney. As far as your quote, I'm in business and I can tell you nothing is further from the truth. Discounts are used for various reasons and generally have nothing to do with overpricing. Discounts for the most part are used as a marketing tool. It might just get some new customers into your establishment. Maybe a way to get rid of excess merchandise or product. It also is used a a loss leader.
