Will be staying at the beach club and wondering what are the best food places to try in that area. I still have a 4 park hopper left, but plan to have 2 days around the resort area for swimming. Last time we did many character meals and did most of the food places/character meals that appealed but never made it over to the boardwalk area! So I know Beaches and Cream one day( no adr for this place right?)for sure...

I would also like to shoot over to do the Hoop dee due musical revue or is mickeys Backyard BBQ better? Any other suggestions we have 2 kids too. So will pass on the expensive places like Yacthmans steakhouse or whatever.

The first thing that comes to mind is Cape May Cafe, right there in the resort. Breakfast is a character meal with Minnie, Goofy and Donald in beach outfits and at night it is a buffet (no characters) with all sorts of good stuff. If none of the restaurants on the Boardwalk appeal to you (and honestly the only one worth eating at is Flying Fish, but that is a signature) you can always walk around at night, share a funnel cake or 2 and watch some of the entertainers that might be out. Also, Fantasia Gardens mini-golf is not a bad walk from BC.

How old are the kids? If they are younger and are the types to get up and dance and play with the characters then maybe Mickey's BYBBQ would be a good choice. Ever since I was little HDDR has been a must do dinner. The show is a lot of fun. It is very cheeky and cheesey and not everyone likes it, but IMO HDDR is always a good choice. :thumbsup2

The best thing about staying at BC is the 5 minute walk into Epcot with all of those food choices. Do not limit yourself to resort eateries as so many of them are signatures or higher and you indicated you were not interested in those.

Cape May at BC is one of the best character breakfasts because it's so quiet. They do a seafood buffet dinner if that interests you. Many people like Kouzzina at the Boardwalk (I do not). There's also Big River Grille and ESPN (both ok, not great). There are a few lower priced places at the Swan/Dolphin that are good. There are many places in Epcot's world showcase that are good.

Cape May Buffet for dinner :thumbsup2

Beaches & Cream is good for kids & has a cute atmosphere - great for a casual meal or lunch.

Also hop over to the Boardwalk Bakery (a short walk away) for a cupcake.

We were staying at Port Orleans Riverside last summer. On our Epcot day we went to Cape May Cafe' for the character breakfast. It was a really good breakfast with lots of choices and the character interaction was great! My husband now has it down on his "must do" list. As others have said, being so close to Epcot is great for food choices. Le Ceiller is our favorite rest. and we always go there. It is a Table service but if you go for lunch it is only 1 TS credit on the DDP and my kids love the food there as well. My 13 year old son had his first steak there last summer and declared "I now love steak" It was the mushroom filet -so we had to break it to him that when we go out for steak at home he won't be getting the $35.00- $45.00 fillet! LOL

You don't say if you are on a dining plan, which could affect the recommendations you get here.

If you aren't, I'd substitute Dolphin Fountain for the Beaches & Cream meal. Same concept, but much better food.

I have to also say walk over to The Dolphin and go to the Fountain, much better food then others.(just remember not part of Disney, you need to use cash or credit card.) kouzzina is very good, try it for breakfast if you don't like the dinner choices. also agree that Epcot is right there, just walk over and pick a place. don't forget "The Kitchen Sink" at Beaches and Cream, its a must.

Thanks those are some great ideas. We are not on the dining plan, we like our freedom to choose, and it is actually cheaper for us the way we eat even with going to table services, etc. :thumbsup2

Flying Fish is outstanding and we enjoy Koussina, especially for breakfast. Yachtsman Steakhouse is also very good. We also like the take-out at the BC Marketplace. Grab a panini, gelato or something and sit by the pool or in the Breezeway to eat.

Beaches and Cream is a great idea, and the BC Marketplace has some great quick options as well. Flying Fish on the Boardwalk is great, as is Kouzzina for breakfast. :)

Also, Kimonos and Todd English's BlueZoo at the Swan/Dolphin are definitely worth the trip. :thumbsup2

If you're looking for a quick meal, the Boardwalk Pizza Window is pretty good. It's great for a late night dinner and you can eat outside right there on the Boardwalk in the middle of everything.

Of course, you also need to stop at Beaches and Cream like some people have already suggested, but be sure to go at an odd time so you don't wait a long time for a table! We walked right in around 3:30!
