It's finally happening -- we finally have ressies for another WDW trip. We're scheduled for Sept. 26th to October 3rd, staying at the BC, and we can't wait.

My biggest worry right now is that I can't find conclusive evidence of a counter-service breakfast at the BC. We are unaccustomed to this. There are counter-service eateries at the WL and the AKL, which were the last two resorts we stayed at. The BWI, where we haven't stayed since the year 2000, had breakfast in the bar, as well as the bakery on the Boardwalk and Spoodles. But I can't figure out where to grab a bagel (sesame) or a danish and a cup of coffee if we're staying at the BC.

Can anyone help me out, please? What am I missing? I feel very stuppid not to have found a simple breakfast at the Beach Club!

Thanks in advance!

It was there in December. It isn't a separate restaurant, but is a section of the shop. They have all the standard items.

We weren't on the plan in December, so can't tell you how that works...but the food was good, plentiful, and priced as per any WDW counter service.

If you are there more than a few days, consider the "mug" plan--$12 for all the beverages you can drink at the self serve counter for the length of your stay. That includes coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soft drinks, etc. It is also good at Beaches & Cream and Hurricane Hannah's--just carry your mug along.

Thank you, k! I feel much reassured. We will definitely do the mugs -- this year, though, we might get only three mugs instead of four. I had to switch to diet drinks, and I'm not sure Diet Dr. Pepper are on the drink machines. I may take a 12-pack and do without a mug of my own this year.

Thanks for the info and recommendation!

I love the BC Marketplace! IMHO, it's one of the best additions to a resort. It's just an extension of the gift shop. Don't miss the gelato!

Thank you, everyone, for your help. The DIS boards really *are* as fabulous as I've been told! I do still have a couple of questions now that I've read the offerings on Deb's site. (Thanks for that link, too! I hadn't found that listing!)

1. The Marketplace doesn't sell a cup of regular, non-cappuccino coffee? Should I just count on making my coffee in the room?

2. Do they offer cold cereal, milk, or orange juice?

I'm just really *overthinking* this, aren't I?

Another option for you is a walk over to the Yacht Club Lobby. The Ale and Compass Lounge has a QS breakfast in the mornings. Also it opens at 6AM, an hour before the Marketplace, so if you're up really early it's a good choice.

I believe that the Marketplace had regular coffee. I was just thinking that if you were a big coffee drinker the mug plan might be more economical.

They do sell juice and milk. They had cold cereal in big boxes, not sure about individual serve packages. It was only Kellogg's brand. We usually take a big box of DD's favorite cereal and buy the milk and juice there (if not on a dining plan). It is much more economical that way. As of December, they did not have Diet Dr. Pepper in the drink dispenser. That's DD's favorite, but she was content with diet Coke for the trip.

Yes, you are thinking too much. WDW makes everything easy for mom!
