We're staying at BC concierge in October for DD's birthday. I have a few questions, if anybody can help.

Do the concierge rooms have full balconies?

Has anybody stayed there recently? How was it, were the staff helpful & friendly?

Will the concierge staff be able to arrange tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, or should I do that myself?

Also, we'd like to do Hoop Dee Do Revue. Should I make the ressies myself, or would we get better seating by having the concierge staff make the ressies for us?

Thanks for any help!

We stayed at the BC Concierge in May. The staff was wonderful, from the IPO office that did some special things for DH's birthday to the Concierge staff at the hotel. Theresa made the stay perfect for DS11. She traded pins with him and talked with him all the time. He always wanted to go down to the desk to see her. LOL DS also loved the fact that Art the Greeter was working in the lounge some evenings. We had a room with a balcony. It looked like all the rooms on the concierge floor had them, but maybe someone else could answer that question better. I had the concierge staff make all my PS's, they even got an Illuminations cruise for us after the 90 day mark. I feel that that is one of the services I am paying them for and one of the reasons why we keep going back and staying concierge. I have heard that sometimes the Concierge staff can get you better seats at things like the Hoop De Doo Revue, but I am not sure.

You will have a wonderful time. SAB was great, both DS and DD3 loved it! Now DD thinks all pools should have sand in them. :teeth: Beaches and Cream was yummy and just the whole area is great.

Thanks for the help.

DD would love it, too, if Art the Greeter were in the lounge! When we stayed at YC last year, we made sure to stop by the BC lobby just so DD could trade pins with Art. She had seen him on Great Hotels and was thrilled to meet him.

I'm glad to hear that the BC concierge staff are friendly. We're really looking forward to our trip! Thanks again for the help.

Hi ValerieK,
I have another thread going about our poor dessert selection at YC concierge. Can you tell me what you were served at BC? Thanks!

Can you tell me what you were served at BC

I'd like to know about the desserts, too! I think that's what DH is most looking forward to.

I can't really remmeber too much, I guess because it wasn't anything that spectacular. I do remember cookies, I love the cookies. I think they had cupcakes, brownies and tiny cheesecake things. I asked DH (his memory is better than mine) and he said nothing that you couldn't get at Sam's Club or Costco. He wasn't that impressed at the BC. I would go back and so would the kids, but for DH, it is not high up on his list.

We did do an Illuminations birthday cruise and the cake that was served was out of this world. I wish I knew how to post pictures, because it was just so wonderful. I think it was made at the Boardwalk bakery though. When we go back in Sept I am going to see if I can find one. I could eat the whole thing.

We were just there. It was pleasant, although I'm not sure I'd go back. We had a good experience, but there are better IMHO.

The staff was for the most part very nice and accomodating. Some were absolutely phenomenal (Phyllis) and others were so-so.

I didn't like the lounge...like the YC it's nota cozy comfortable place to mingle. There are tables and chairs, no easy chairs of sofas. I much prefer the lounges at the AKL, Polynesian, and BWI. It also felt small and cramped.

The offerings were OK, nothing special except a grilled salmon they had one evening.

I'd let the concierge staff make you're PS's, just double check that they've got them correct.

Our room had a full balcony, I think all fifth floor rooms do, but I could be wrong on that.

Anne
