Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn or Neither?

MinnieSummer--BWI is great! I have 3 kids 18,16, and 14...we have been staying there for a number of years and the kids love it. JellyRolls and Atlantic Dance are at the end of the BW so no worries. I wouldn't say the walk to the pool was any longer than the walk from our room to the pool at the BC. Don't forget to check the goings on at Community Hall, I think that's the name, we spent a whole afternoon there on one of our trips. :flower:

Does BWI have balcony rooms? Will the room have a day bed? There are only 4 of us but I have a boy and a girl who don't want to share a bed? Also how is the noise level? I am thinking of trying this resort but don't know too much about it. Thanks!

Most rooms have a daybed but some don't so make sure you have it noted on your reservation. The noise level is not a problem with the doors to your balcony closed, certainly some rooms directly over the BW shops and restaurants can have some noise when the doors are open.

The decorations at the BW are some of the most whimsical on the property, she will be enchanted by the chocolate roller coaster and merry go round horses in the lobby.

The rollercoaster is at Boardwalk, but the carousel is at the Beach Club.

The daybeds at the BWI are shorter in length than a standard twin bed. If whoever is sleeping in it under five feet you'll be ok, otherwise you could have a problem.

Actually there is a carousel and a rollercoaster in the lobby of the BW.

After your post I thought I was imagining things so I actually had to look it up because I couldn't remember for sure!

But the carosel is right above the seats when you walk into the lobby and the rollercoaster is near the gift shop in the lobby.

I think she was talking about teh choclate ones made at Christmas time.

To clarify for everyone...

In the lobby of the BWI, at Christmas, there is a choclate roller coaster scene. Year round there is the merry go round as you walk through the front doors, behind glass on the platform above the funky round sofa.

At the BC, at Christmas, there is a chocolate merry go round.

Thanks for clarifying! :sunny:

I should have divided my sentences.

I was talking about the Christmas chocolate roller coaster and the carousel that is part of the lobby decor year round.

I love both resorts very, very much. When it's an adult trip I tend to book at BWV; when I've got children I usually go for the BCV. That's not saying BCV is more kid friendly that Boardwalk because I have stayed there with my DGD and she loved it too. However, she really loves the BC pool more. BC does have that advantage that you can always walk to take a boatride to the Boardwalk to enjoy the games, entertainment, etc. and still have access to the BC pool. Both are truely wonderful resorts; you can't go wrong with either.

I've stayed at Beach Club several times and BWI once. Didn't care for Boardwalk for many reasons, but adore the Beach Club.

Wow! Thanks for all of the advice everyone! They both sound great for different reasons! I am thinking of staying in one or the other next year as DH and I want to go to the Food & Wine Festival and thought it would be nice to walk back and forth from our hotel to EPCOT. I will keep them both in mind - I obviously have a bit of time as it isn't until next fall!! Can never plan too early for WDW!!! Thanks again!

BWV because i love it there. That's why i bought DVC there. :Pinkbounc

::MinnieMo We LOVE the BWV! We've stayed in several of the resorts and the BW has been our family favorite. The convenience and atmosphere are great. My 6 year old has grown up vacationing there...he loves the clown pool and slide. The Bakery is yummy! The night time entertainment is so cool.
