Do ALL of the rooms at BC have a balcony? I thought I saw a picture of a room with only a window. We have never stayed at BC before. We are booked in a Garden room in Sept. and wondering if a balcony should be one of our requests. Thanks!

About 50% of rooms have a full balcony. The other 50% have Juliet balconies that are small and only allow for standing.

I would make full balcony my only request. Having a full balcony is important to me, is I made it my only request and got it. Or you could book YC, all rooms there have balconies.

I am some what torn on this issue. I really would like ground floor, but I am not counting on that at all, just hoping for a possible free upgrade. But back to the issue at hand. I don't think a full balcony will really matter to me that much if I had a bad view. I had rather have a better view with a small balcony if that would be possible, if not, that is ok too.

So just having the best view possible that would be available to me is the most important. I guess I would just need to get my TA to note that on the reservation and maybe just go with a high floor on online check-in?

Thanks for the info.! I think a full balcony will be our request. We like to have our morning coffee out there.:coffee:

Here is the info from Beach & Yacht Club FAQ thread about balconies at the resort. The first picture has a good depiction of the first floor patio, full balcony and Juliet balcony.

Will I have a full balcony?

Almost all of the rooms at the Yacht Club have a full balcony. A few rooms have extra large balconies that may be shared with another room.
About 50% of the rooms at the Beach Club have full balconies with a table and two chairs. The remaining 50% have standing or "Juliet" balconies.

If you are staying at the Beach Club and a full balcony is important to you, you should have "Full balcony, please" as your first or only request.

If the room assigned to you does not have a full balcony, talk to someone at the front desk (in person) to see if it is possible to get a room with a full balcony. If not, and you are willing to switch after a day or two, ask when a room with a full balcony will be available.

Here are a couple of pictures. The first one by pittpantherfan shows BC patio, full and Juliet balcony rooms.
The second picture by Natebenma shows a full size balcony:

I think if the view is that important to you that you should pay for the upgrades room view. The view didn't matter to me much. I wanted the full balcony to place our wet bathing suits on the table and chairs.

I can't. I booked the rate with a TA and all they offer is standard view. But if the view sucks, that will be just fine, because the rate is awesome.

Why aren't you counting on the ground floor? We used to always request ground floor at all DVC resorts when we had our double stroller and I've been told numerous times that it's the least requested floor!

Good luck!

The last time we were there we were on the ground floor (per our request) but now we are going with just adults. Do any of the higher floor facing Epcot have a view of the fireworks? I know they don't offer "park view" rooms or anything.

Can't wait to go back!

Is the poster staying at the villas or the resort? Does the resort even have ground floor rooms?

The best chance of getting a view of the higher Illuminations fireworks is to book a garden/woods view room. All of the rooms that face toward Epcot are garden/woods view rooms.

The original poster booked a standard view room and there aren't any standard view rooms at the BC on the ground floor. There are ground floor rooms at the BC but they are garden/woods view and lagoon/pool view rooms.

Yes-agreed. That is what I was getting at. The resort portion isn't the same as the villa portion.

Correct. I agree with both of you
Beach Club Resort - No standard view ground floor rooms
Beach Club Villas - Yes there are ground floor standard view rooms. But it would be difficult to see high Illuminations fireworks from these
