Wow, can't believe no availability for last week of Aug, 2018. Wow -- it is booked this far in advance? I'm hoping to price it out since I've never stayed there before.

Anyone think they will open more rooms, perhaps they are holding back for some reason?

Try again as maybe there was a glitch when you checked. I just checked several dates from 3 nights stay up to 7 nights during the last week of August and found just about every room category available.

Thank you! I was checking the Villas, that is why nothing came up. Plenty available for BC, and plenty expensive too! I am having a hard time paying the prices for these resorts. We always got 2 rooms but it is not prohibitively expensive and I don't want to do value, or moderate for the price (I remember when mods were $169 / night now they are $269).

I don't know if F & W will have started the last week of August, but BC villas can be almost impossible to get during that time and owners can book at 11 months out.

I feel your pain! I just looked at Wilderness Lodge for the first week in November 2018 and it is over $40.00 more per night per room than what we are paying this year - we have 3 rooms so at $411.00 per night (keeping in mind that is before the additional 12% is added) it is cost prohibitive. For several years we were able to get some sort of discount (general or Passholder) but they don't seem to be available for a standard room at the Lodge anymore during the late fall. We also have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and have seen those prices really escalate as well. We have loved having a family vacation at Disney every year for the past 22 years - not sure we can continue with that tradition with the continuing increase in ticket and hotel prices .

It starts Aug 31 and I was checking for the week before. We need two rooms, not necessarily a villa. Actually, 2 queen beds in each room so villas wouldn't be ideal anyway.

So, I got 5 nights, 2 standard rooms, 1 child and 1 adult in each room, 6 day park hoppers = $6530.

On top of that airfare, 1 day water park, food. We are looking at 10k total, I'm sure. For just a 5 day vacation. I'm off to price other vacations to see how it compares. Maybe things are just that expensive all over now.

Off to price a Vegas / Grand Canyon trip.

My question is who is paying these prices? I thought we were doing pretty well financially but we can't even fathom these prices! Yikes! If you require two rooms as a family that is when it really hurts. I guess that is my unique problem as most families of 4 can get by with one room. We cannot because my husband snores all night (loud) and the kids cannot sleep at all in our room. I am used to it so it doesn't bother me as much.

OKW 2 bedroom would be $800 cheaper! It looks really nice!

I think since Disney started allowing 3rd party travel agencies to sell blocks of rooms, it has gotten harder to get some room types directly thru Disney. Especially the end of August, beginning of September time frame. There is an agency that books lots of standard rooms at Y&B club for that time frame. So that leaves less rooms to book directly from Disney.
