We went to WDW in January 2015 with our autistic son. After reading about the recent changes with GAC/DAS before our trip, I'll admist that I was a bit nervous on how it would work for us. However, using FastPass+ along with the new DAS system worked out very well! Is it as great as the older system? Maybe not. But I understand why they needed to make the change. And utimately, the system accomodated our son so that he was able to enjoy the park as much as he could. That's all I could ever hope for. And in all honesty I believe WDW goes above and beyond their competitors in this regard.
I decided to call WDW Disability Services to let them know how I felt about our experience. The Cast Member seemed so appreciative of the call and mentioned that he usually only gets calls from people complaining. Really?! I was sad to hear that...
It felt so good to pass along a 'Thank you' to them. A nice way to send some magic their way. I think we forget that WDW is not just a commodity; there is a human element behind it. People that day in and day out work hard to make our vacations enjoyable. Please don't forget to say 'Thank You'! A quick phone call (literally 5 minutes out of your day) to disability services, the hotel you stayed at, restaurant, ect. can really make someone's day, and in turn it can make your day too!
