We finally were able to get reservations for BOG!! We are going in mid-Decemeber... cannot wait!
We will be there for dinner.... any recommendations as far as food, what to do, and/or what to look for??

We were just there a few weeks ago and had our first meal at the beast's castle! All the adults in our group had the steak or the chicken, followed by cupcakes for dessert, and it was all great! The kids didn't love their grilled cheese and soup, but they can be picky and I didn't try it. The kids portion was huge and could easily feed two if they're not big eaters. The atmosphere was so special and we really enjoyed it. We were in the west wing which had a more intimate feel. The ballroom is lovely, but does look a bit like a cafeteria. Don't forget to check out all the rooms before you leave and meet the beast. I've seen some bad reviews lately, but we would definitely go back. Have fun on your trip!

Perfect, thanks!!
a quick question, did you request the West Wing? If so, can/should I do that in advance?

I was there about 2 weeks ago and had the French Onion soup for an appetizer, the Braised Beef for my entree and then the Gray Stuff for dessert. I can't remember what my friends had for their meal though.

I really liked the French Onion Soup and the Braised Beef. I wasn't too thrilled about the Gray Stuff though. It was ok, nothing real special in my opinion. If I was to eat there again, I would go with one of the cupcakes or the eclair.

We sat in the Ballroom area, right by the entrance to where the Beast hangs out for his photo-ops. I actually liked where we sat because we could see the entire ballroom and just imagine dancing there like Belle and the Beast. After dinner we did walk through the other two rooms. While I liked the room with the rose, it was way to dark and I can see that being a problem with eating dinner.

In other posts I have seen that when you check-in you can request a particular seating area. But that may delay how long it takes you to get seated.

We were there a few weeks ago

I like the potato leek soup. We have had the salad trio app before (a little on the small side) and also the charcuterie once too
Dh had the steak and subbed green beans for the fries, he also likes the braised pork.
I tried the shrimp and scallops and liked it but felt the sauce was a little too garlicky for my liking. It is served over pasta (more like fettuccine noodles)
Adult ds had the ratatouille. I thought it was a really small portion. I have had it before too.

Desserts - my favorite is always the strawberry cupcake. This time I had the special cupake (I cant remember but think it was pumpkin? that was part of the halloween party dessert.
If you are going on a MVMCP night they have one special party dessert.

The pork dish was delicious. I had the lunch portion but I see that it is served at dinner, too. The strawberry cupcake tastes like the most phenomenal birthday cake ever. It was the best dessert I had at WDW.

Perfect, thanks!!

We had a group of 8 that I had to book as two reservations of 4 each. I told them I completely understood if we had to sit apart, but asked them to check if they had space to seat us all together. They called up to the restaurant and then said that we could go as a group of 8 if we were okay sitting in the west wing. I took that to mean that it's less desired, which I understand because: 1) it is darker 2) some small kids may be frightened and 3) it could be annoying if you're the table right next to the rose.
We really enjoyed that section though and our 4 and 6 year-olds loved it too. I think you can request an area at check-in but they may not always be able to honor the request. For example, the music box room was closed even though reservations were full and they were turning people away. Maybe they were running with fewer staff during our visit? The odds would probably be good though if you wanted the west wing. It was in no way too dark for us to eat but I suppose that could vary a bit with where you are in the room. You also get a great look at the beast as he comes and goes from his sets. He welcomed our room each time headed back in.

We were there about a month ago, DH had the pork and I has the shrimp and scallops. We loved both meals and would go back again!!

That's not really it. Dinner, being a TS, is constrained for reservations by the size of the kitchen and what it can turn out. So they can fill all 3 rooms for breakfast and lunch, but never book it to that capacity for dinner. Since capacity is much much smaller for dinner, they frequently close off a dining room for dinner, generally the music box, because it means less set-up, clean-up, and distance to walk for staff.
