Be our guest - pre ordering, no separate checks

Good morning! I have a question about be our guest pre ordering. We are meeting friends for lunch at be our guest. We are on the dining plan, but they are not. When I go to pre order it says that there are no separate checks if you preorder. Am I going to be able to use my credits just for our meals and they can pay for theirs with cash? Or is it going to get too complicated? Thanks!
