What are the differences between lunch and dinner at BOG? Do you still order at the kiosk, is it still considered quick serve at lunch? Which would you choose with a toddler? Does anything different happen at lunch vs dinner? Do you get to choose your room to sit in with lunch or dinner? If you ate dinner there, how long did it take from start to finish? Etc!

With a toddler I would do lunch. Its quick service. Dinner is an expensive prix fix affair. The Beast will take pics in the library room after your meal but that is it. I would wait til your toddler is older to do dinner

Lunch is quick service for breakfast and lunch. You pay for what you order (so you can split entrees, or order a kid's meal for an adult, or just order some soup or a cupcake if that's what you want to do). You can pre-order food online ahead of time or order at a kiosk when you arrive for your reservation. At lunch you also get your own drinks, utensils, napkins, etc. CM's bring your food and clear your table but otherwise it is like any other QS meal. Price is much less than dinner, food is good.

Dinner is a table service, prix fixe meal. Everyone pays the adult price or the child price (3 and over) regardless of what they order/ eat. You are seated (do not choose where to sit), and your food/ utensils/ beverages/ etc are all served to you like any other table service. Beast is there for a photo, but there are no other characters.

I overwhelmingly prefer lunch to dinner. It's the same castle (so same atmosphere as any other meal), my food comes to me (it's fun- you order, choose a seat, and your food "finds" you), I don't have to clear my table. So basically it's a little more service than a traditional quick service all while sitting where I choose, eating at a pace I prefer (my toddler can take an hour to eat a sandwich or inhale a plateful of food in 10 minutes), and not spending a set price (or 2 TS credits) on a dinner where my 11 yo would rather have a cheeseburger and I can't finish my $55 meal.

So are there any entertainment differences between lunch and dinner otherwise? Beast is present at both meals? Can you try the grey stuff at lunch too?

Beast is only at dinner. No other entertainment difference I can recall. The gray stuff is available at lunch.

Oh no, that's not cool....so basically at lunch you are just eating in the castle?? A

Can anyone tell me how long dinner took for them?

There is no entertainment at either meal.

No Beast at lunch, he's only at dinner. He doesn't come to the dining room- you go after dinner and have your photo taken with him.

Grey stuff all by itself is not on either menu. For lunch, it's the topping for the Master's cupcake, and at dinner it's the filling for the "Chip's cup," a white chocolate cup that is filled with the grey stuff.

I thought the same thing about lunch- you are just eating in the castle. We did dinner the first time. Then we tried lunch...and have done lunch every time since. The atmosphere inside the castle is what we love and you still get that with lunch. You choose your seat at lunch so we have been able to eat in all of the rooms. It's less expensive and like others have said it takes as long as you want it to be. Dinner isn't your typical character meal because the Beast doesn't greet you at your table. You can take a picture with him on your way out, so we don't even notice that he's not there at lunch.

Well, eating lunch in the castle is much cooler on your pocketbook. I’ll take that over the Beast.
You can just order a cupcake at lunch if that’s all you want. It’s much better then paying $55 per person at dinner.

My thoughts exactly!
It's the same castle, same atmosphere at either meal so either way you're "just eating in the castle." Only at lunch, I can eat a soup and a cupcake if that's all I want and at dinner it's a set price even if I just want a salad and then a photo with the Beast on the way out.

Ok you sold me. Especially with an antsy toddler. I will save dinner for the following year or two when baby is older! Thanks!

Hmmm you may want to go to the Disney World website and read up on BOG.
Lunch and dinner are completely different in every way except they are in the same venue lol.
Lunch is QS, dinner is a "signature" TS.
Lunch is seat yourself, dinner they seat you.
Lunch is one menu, dinner is another menu.
Lunch you order at the kiosk or preorder, dinner you order after you've been seated.
Lunch no Beast, dinner usually Beast.
Lunch is pretty fast, dinner is sit down and you can expect to be there at least 70-90 minutes.

Again extremely different from each other.

Admittedly I have not had dinner there but I don't care to.
I like lunch and have eaten lunch there 10 times.
The dinner menu also is not interesting to me.
I would definitely take a toddler for QS lunch.

We did dinner there last summer when it was a sit down meal but not yet a signature sit down meal and loved it. Now that they've changed it to signature though, I probably won't be back for dinner. The old menu (and prices) appealed to us much more. Now I'll stick with lunch or breakfast.

I would choose lunch over dinner. The lunch menu is good. As previously posters stated, you order at the kiosk or preorder. The Beast is not there. At lunch you can choose your room (upon availability) and eat at your pace.

We had dinner in December 2018. It was 2 Table Service Credit on Dining plan. IMO not worth it. Our service was not great and the food was just okay. There were not enough choices for the kids in my opinion. We had 7 adults and 4 children under 5 . The did like the Chip dessert. The gratuity was automatically added since we were a party of 11. We normally leave 20% but our server did not deserve the 18% that was added. I will not choose dinner there again (unless Belle is added to the venue). But, the castle and theme is beautiful.

I always try to get a PPO breakfast because I do like the breakfast and lunch and they are worth the quick service dining credit.

With a toddler go at breakfast or lunch. Take lots of photos.

We've been to both lunch and dinner. If the whole point is eating in the castle, I'd do lunch. My kids are happy with lunch and the food is still better than an average counter service. TBH we weren't impressed with dinner. It was good, but not worth the price.

As noted lunch is ala-carte. And self seating. They may tell you which room to sit in.
Have not tried the new dinner meal to know if its better than before.
