I saw on another site that it's very wise to order your lunch selections in advance to avoid a 20-30 minute line to order food. What is the latest one can do this, or do you have to do this 180 days out assuming you can get a reservation? It's hard enough to know where you want to eat that far in advance, let alone what you want to eat. I'll do what has to be done, just want to know how. Thanks.

I've done it while walking to the restaurant. No problem. You go to the site that shows your dining reservations, and there will be a link to order next to your BOG ressie. It won't let you order several months in advance, anyway. And you're free to go back in and change your order if you wish.

Just. Do. It.

Twice now I didn't preorder and the line is truly awful.

First time I was with a "wing it" girlfriend and I knew she would die laughing if I suggested it. We waited half an hour in terrible heat.

Second time I was sure we would preorder. But since I was travelling with newbies who were overwhelmed with planning anyway, I figured no harm waiting until the night before or the morning of. With all the fun and craziness of vacation, I forgot until just past our ADR as we walked up to the check in desk. Too late.band yet another long, unnecessary line.

Just preorder a few weeks out (opens up at 30 days) and then change it anytime up until u are there paying. Way safer and skips that very very long line.

Yes, definitely do it. It's seriously like having a Fastpass to getting your food. We did it the day before with a large group of 14, and I've done it on every other trip with a group of 5 of us. You bypass a very long line to order your food (it's a quick service restaurant for lunch, but it's quite big, so lots of people waiting to order food), you check in so they know you are there, then you find a table, sit down, and your food is brought to you either by finding you via MagicBand or a magic rose. I feel like if I forgot to preorder at this point my kids would wonder why on earth we were waiting in line!

If you preorder is it possible to put in special requests? Thank you!

Unfortunately I do not know the answer to this question as I haven't had to make special requests that I can recall. Much like Fastpasses, if you already have your reservation, once you are in your 30 day window for your ADR date you can login and look at the menu and ordering options to see how/where to enter special requests. If you are going to wait until closer to your actual reservation date to order, at least this way you will already be familiar with the menu and the way the online ordering works.

30 days tomorrow! I'll take a look both myself and DGS need to request different so I'll be able to plan. Thank you.
