Be Our Guest - Lunch is this a quick service?

I apologize I've been out of the Disney loop for about 9 years now. Heading back next week. Lots has changed so I'm trying to get back up to speed...

I see a lot of talk about Be Our Guest restaurant. A few questions:

Is this in the castle?
I thought I read somewhere that they have a quick service lunch option? Is this true?
If so, is this a walk in type lunch or do you need reservations (for quick service)

It is a Quick service for breakfast and for lunch but you have to make a reservation, even it's a quick service

Correct, and for your other question, it is not in Cinderella's castle. It's located in Fantasyland. Lots of people say they're dining "in the castle", but they're meaning the Beast's "castle". It's really nothing more than a large building made to look like a mountain with a tiny castle propped at the top of it.

Pretty much. The forced perspective works better at night.

Easily my favorite restaurant in all of WDW.

Sometimes they do have availability for walk ups (assuming last minute cancellations that aren't filled)-I have seen some people get lucky when checking in for our lunch ADRs in the past. You could try walking by and see if you can get lucky-also you could check for an ADR the night before or morning of-people have to cancel the day before if they aren't going to use it since there is a no show penalty if not cancelled the day prior.

We had success with a group of 4 of walking up to the counter when they first opened for lunch (I think it was around 10 AM) to see if there were dinner cancellations. We got lucky and scored a dinner reservation for that evening.

Just one other thing, for BOG lunch, if you have an ADR, you can pre-order your food before the day so you skip the lines

This is one of my favorite quick serve restaurants! Breakfast is fabulous! You pre order and skip the lines. Along with your breakfast you are given assorted pastries so be prepared to have food left over! Opening the restaurant is a special affair too when the servers march in. Go early and beat the race to the Mine ride since you can go in to eat before the park opens.

As others have said, it is a QS and does require an ADR. The one positive I will say is that the theme and decor of Beasts castle is spectacular but from there the glowing reviews end. IMO, it is a pretty decent place to go for a QS lunch with some pretty decent offerings. For dinner I'll pass, seeing the Beasts castle for the average at best food is not worth it for me. For breakfast this place is the biggest ripoff in all of WDW (perhaps $149 EMH now tops it), nothing more than an over-hyped, over-sensationalized trap for breakfast charging $24 for Disney's version of an Egg McMuffin and a few Entenmanns quality pastries sprinkled in with some pixie dust to make it seem worth it to get to walk down an already much more crowded pre- opening Main Street than used to be and then race right over to Anna & Elsa or the 7DMT (another over-hyped attraction). I guess if one is on the DDP and using a QS credit then BOG is like hitting the Powerball... If paying OOP, that's another story. So with that all said, if you can get a last minute ADR for BOG for lunch I would do it; any other time I would pass.

On MDE, go to My Reservations and Tickets, scroll down to your BoG reservation, then if you're inside your 30 day pre-order window, there will be a link to "Place Your Order". If you're still outside your 30 day pre-order widow, it will tell you the date your pre-order window begins.

Easily one of the best restaurants in MK! The theming is great, you enter the castle doors, the foyer area is well themed, the knights are terrific. There are three dining areas, the Music Box room, the Ballroom, and the Beasts Library. We have enjoyed all of them. The lunch menu is great, the braised pork is a dish I dream about when I'm home!!!
