Be Our Guest Dinner Reservation - Don't Lose Hope

Like many others, I did not book my Disney vacation until about 4 months in advance, so I was a little peeved to find that Be Our Guest was already booked solid because Disney allows reservations up to 180 in advance! Far too long, in my opinion.

Anyway, I had pretty much given up hope snagging a reservation since my one and only day at Magic Kingdom was on an EMH day, and I had a party of 6. Still, I checked once a day at random hours just to see. I had a hunch that if anything was going to open up, it would be in the final few days.

On Sunday afternoon, 4 days before our trip, a bunch of BOG reservations suddenly popped up. They were all too late in the evening for a normal dinner with kids (8:30 and later), but I went ahead an grabbed one for dessert.

So anyway, if you didn't get a reservation early, my advice would be to wait until about 1 week before your trip, then start checking a few times per day. I bet you'll get something even if it's not the best time.

I've heard a lot of similar stories, and it makes sense that people will cancel closer to the reservation date, but I also have a hunch that Disney either opens up more tables, or releases reservations in makes for itself (for VIPs?) as the date approaches. That's just speculation, but wouldn't surprise me in the least.

If you had a similar experience, please post here. Maybe we can identify a pattern.

I just got a 7:45 reservation for my trip in early March last night. Can you do just dessert there? I was thinking it is late for the kids for dinner but if we can do dessert I would do an earlier dinner at a QS and then dessert there.

we decided to go to WDW late last month for end of February so I didn't have much hope getting BOG reservations. I checked literally everyday at random times and I was just able to score reservation for 2 on 2/25. I kept seeing it for next week so don't lose hope!

We just decided yesterday to head over to WDW for my daughter's spring break (about 45 days out), and I was about to lose hope/give up on an ADR for BOG. Thank you for the encouragement!

I just got an 8:05 p.m. reservation at BOG for 4/6!!! It pays to obsessively check all day long!!! Yay!

Good for you! It seems like the cancellations came in waves when we went. At about six weeks out (maybe the 45-day cancellation deadline for some?), then at a month out, and the week of the trip. We got lucky at BOG by stalking too. Finding one for a party of six was lucky! Enjoy.

Got a 6pm on Valentines day at the beginning if Feb.

Also scored a 5.30 a week before the 16th Feb

I have been trying to get a reservation for dinner at Be Our Guest for a friend and lunch at CP on the same day 4/1. She just booked 2 weeks ago. If I can't find one I am hoping to get them a lunch reservation when those open on 2/25 and hopefully find a dinner reservation at CP.
