I really, really, really wanted to snag reservations for this restaurant...and finally got them! But I've been looking at the menu, and there's really nothing that I'm too excited about, lol. Neither of us eat most of the stuff on the menu (lamb? no thanks).

So, for all of you who have eaten dinner at BOG, were you happy with it? Or was it just the "magic" of eating there? It looks pretty amazing from photos, so maybe it's worth it in a way? Just looking for honest opinions :-)

We're not on any dining plans.

We went on our last trip and had a good dinner. The food was good but we didn't think it was as amazing as some people say, but the ambiance cannot be beat. I had the steak and my DH had the seafood dish (drawing a blank on what it's called.) I think if you've never been to BOG, it's worth going to.

We really enjoyed dinner there. DH and I both had steak. I can't remember what my daughter had. Was it the best steak I've ever had? No, but it was definitely very good. The service was wonderful. IMO, it is the best meal in the MK.

We have been eating there two times each trip, usually lunch. I really like the braised pork. DH likes the beef and turkey sandwiches. It's a beautiful restaurant but noisy. It is nice to just sit someplace cool, out of the sun. We always pre-order so that we could just sit after paying and they bring the food right out to us instead of waiting at other counter service restaurants.

It's worth trying once, if you can find something on the menu.

My husband and I went there about 2 weeks ago, and loved it. I had the steak, and he had the seafood (which I think was salmon). It was ever so slightly salty, but it was really good. And of course the atmosphere is amazing; it was our favorite meal of the trip. I would definitely do it at least once.

We had dinner there twice, one year apart. I ordered the same thing both times (the steak) and the first time was awful and the 2nd time was good (not Yachtsman great, but good). So for me, it's really not all that and other than booking a breakfast ADR to try and get a jump start on the RD'ers, I wouldn't bother going back. In fact, the 2nd dinner was a same day ADR and was the only restaurant in MK that had an opening (believe it or not!) or I probably wouldn't have even bothered. I'm glad I did though, because the 2nd meal definitely made up for the first.

I haven't been yet but according to my friend the steak was the best she ever had. I booked for August so I guess I'll find out :)

We loved it. My DH and I both got the steak (mine was gf) and the kids had the turkey meatloaf. Our favorite dinner.
Being in the castle, seeing the Beast walk through, our waiter was great, having the dessert cart come and the kids pick their desserts- all excellent.
And then of course, pictures with the Beast :)

We have been twice for dinner - we've ordered steak, salmon, braised pork, and ratatouille. All were just 'meh'. There is only one item on the menu that I absolutely crave and that's the potato leek soup. However, I will continue to book dinner ressies because the ambiance is simply amazing.

We had the same thoughts. Food was good, not great. Steak was decent. they sat us right by the "window" so we watched it snow. The kids thought the lumiere was so cool, we had a great time. The strawberry cupcake was amazing. We booked it again this year.

We've had dinner 6x, and breakfast & lunch each once. Obviously, we really enjoy dinner :goodvibes We haven't had a meal that's been less than great in all our visits and we've tried lots of different entrees and apps. Being in the castle alone is certainly an experience, but we feel the food is also worth it.

We only enjoy dinner there. Hated lunch and wouldn't bother with breakfast, as that menu has nothing that appeals to us. We thought dinner was "all that" even after a not so great experience at lunch. We really loved the food - shrimp and scallops were delicious! And the steak was a big hit with the others in our party. The whole table service experience over the QS was great. Nice and relaxing, great service and meeting the Beast on our way out was so much fun. The lemon meringue cupcake is my favorite! Cannot wait to go back for dinner in September. It is my sisters favorite restaurant for dinner, so she was thrilled that we are fitting in it in during our trip. We enjoyed the atmosphere of this castle so much more than CRT.

When we had dinner there in November, we checked in and within minutes they were calling our party. We thought there would be some kind of wait but there was none at all. We love that they give the Lumierre to walk to the table. The kids love it.

We went last November. Dinner food was a mixed bag. The entree I wanted that I had seen on the menu online (salmon) was not available. And I agree, there wasn't much else I wanted to order. My steak was good, but not great. I LOVED the french onion soup! There was some mayo-like dipping sauce for my fries that wasn't at all appealing to me. Dessert was OK, not particularly memorable. Service was outstanding. The room was very nice, and I loved when they "announced the beast" but the tables are close together. We were in the large room, the smaller rooms looked more appealing. I would go back, but not consider it a must-do.

We love the soups. Both are vegetarian so they work for us, AND they are delicious. DH has had french onion soup at some fine restaurants, and said that BOG's is the best he's ever had. I felt that the PL soup was just under *my* PL soup, and mine is really good. :) (moosewood's recipe)

I also had the garden salad, and DH had the seasonal salad trio.

Oh and I had a Le Fin du Monde beer. :)

DS, who Does Not Eat Soup, was in such despair of the awful kid's meal of pasta with marinara, that he tried my soup. And loved it. And ordered his own.

We went in November and really liked it! We had the steak and it was perfectly done and very tasty. The restaurant itself is so cool, it's worth going at least once to see it but we'd definitely go back for the food as well.

For dessert, try the grey stuff. It's delicious. Don't believe me? Ask the dishes.

For our family (four adults), it was the "magic" of eating there. It was a one time thing for us. The food was just okay. Except the potato leek soup that was mentioned earlier - it was very good.

We very much enjoyed being there! Everyone should try it at least once.

We have ADRs for dinner at BOG (June), and we're not expecting the best meal ever at WDW, since it's more the experience of dining there that has attracted us to this restaurant. That said, we are hoping for a good meal! There are a few menu items that look very interesting! We're really excited to meet the Beast too!

We really enjoyed our dinners here. The ambiance is just lovely, the service has been really good. Last trip especially our server was top notch, as in fine dining level of service. And our food has always been really good as well. The pork chop I had last time was melt in your mouth tender and delicious. Even the rolls were incredibly good. Only downside was the dessert menu didn't really appeal to me. But I'm an oddball who isn't really a big fan of chocolate or a lot of other typical desserts like cheesecake and such. I had the éclair which was okay but not a flavor combo I cared for.

And of course meeting the Beast is a super cool bonus.

To be completely honest I wasn't impressed. Yes the scenery is pretty but I really thought it was extremely over priced and the food wasn't that great. We went last May and it was chaotic even with our reservation we had to wait an additional 30 minutes outside in the heat. I also found the CMs to be miserable. We won't be going back when we go again in September.
