Be Our Guest Breakfast Price Increase

I'm very confused as to how an infant could consume a pastry platter, fruit, and a bowl of cereal... and still be hungry enough to necessitate a second breakfast order.

I will say: The kid was undoubtedly not on the verge of starvation if cereal and fruit was involved, even sans pastries. But to ask how an infant could eat all that but still want more? Is clearly someone who never met my elder as a toddler. He ate Hobbit style: 2 breakfasts, then a mid-morning snack, then lunch, then 2 afternoon snacks, then dinner, then a before-bed snack. And he'd be chowing significant portions.

He's older now, but I assure you buffets are a tremendous value with this kid, even today! :rotfl2:

sux but I'll pay it to be in Fantasyland before park opening and walk on SDMT before crowds

DH and I ate here the last week of september last year. We were there for the food and wine so we didn't want a large meal. We didn't want to ride SDM, we were just there to see what all the hype about the restaurant was.

DH never eats breakfast and I will usually eat toast, but on vacation we like to have a bigger meal.

We each ordered a kids meal. DH had the french toast and I had the oatmeal. I love oatmeal, so I order it on vacation often. Usually its a nice oatmeal, but this was like the packets you add hot water to. I didn't even get brown sugar, it was a little serving of white sugar. We had looked at the pictures and while it looked like you only got 3/4th a slice of bread, I told DH even Disney wouldn't have the nerve to serve less than a whole slice of bread. I was wrong, it was less than a whole slice of bread. Yes you got a fruit cup with maybe 4 pieces of chopped fruit and a few mini Wal-mart muffins.

We knew we were having lots to eat later at the F&W, so we didn't want to fill up, but that wouldn't fill up either of my grandkids and I would be buying them a snack as soon as we left.

I would be surprised if the powers that make decisions even gave it a thought that people would be sharing meals or just ordering a cupcake for breakfast. When I was working we would have national accounts come in with ideas that would have me shaking my head at how nobody thought this through!

that's awful. Honestly even at a QS it seems like a ripoff for the kiddos when you can get mickey waffles and bacon elsewhere.

Thank you, Disney has now just read your post and will be making the announcement next week that all breakfast sandwiches are now going up to $29.99 and that they are eliminating cupcakes and the frozen pastry tray as well. :rotfl2:

These prices are insane. I surprised DW with BOG breakfast on our anniversary morning. Glad I did as we won't be going back there anytime soon for breakfast.

$24 for a doughnut?

Yeah, but you get a tray of stale, marginal mini-pastries with it, and 4 people can share it and each get two bites, so you see...it's really a GREAT deal.

But yeah....$24 for a donut.

The doughnut only costs $2; it's the pixie dust that comes with it that cost's $22... You know, Oh I get to walk down an empty Main Street, see the Beast's castle and hop in the front of the 7DMT and I get to do this for the incredible low, low price of $24. And later this evening I can't wait to fork over my $50+ to stand in a line an hour early (no longer reserved seating) to attend the Wishes Dessert Party. Oh my goodness, the best sparkling apple juice I've ever tasted and to see Tinker Belle zip buy so close, I'd gladly pay more.:rotfl2:

I'm in WDW right now and I admittedly haven't read through this entire thread or done a search, but the prices for lunch all went up about $2-3 bucks as well. I was quite surprised when a roast beef sandwich was $17. Needless to say, that was likely our last trip to Be Our Guest in a long while. Too pricy when I can go to Liberty Tree for lunch for roughly the same price.

A lot of the posts in this thread are exactly why they raised the prices. Disney did not want to take a hard line on forcing payment per head, and the outrage that would follow and now are left with the current situation of having to jack up prices for everyone. Adults ordering kids meals, large groups of people sharing refills, the madness had to stop. When we went last summer it was a mad house. This may help make it a "nicer" dining experience in the long run.

I agree the prices are ridiculous and the breakfast out of pocket only makes sense if you are on a dining plan or a once in a lifetime vacation. Most people who only go to Disney once or twice will pay the cost order a whole meal and go on with their lives.

I would not think twice having breakfast or lunch here if I was on the DDP. Without it? Nope, never gonna happen

Maybe Disney is making the DDP more attractive for families with this type in crazy pricing
