Be careful what you wish for...waitlist?

I have a 1 week reservation set for Nov. 13-20. We're scheduled to stay in a 1 BR Standard View-Kidanni. I put in a waitlist for Savannah View and just added a second waitlist request for BCV. I told member services I didn't mind a split stay.

Does this mean they could put us one day at AKV, another at BCV, back to AKV, etc.? Is there a limit to the moves/changes that we'll have to make during that week? Or did I set myself up for a crazy week of many moves?

As if you didn't know, this will be our first DVC stay. Thanks.

There are a lot of savanna view rooms, so you've got a good chance. If savanna view is your first choice, I might suggest WLing for savanna view rooms at both kidani and jambo and saying that you do not want a split stay. I think you'd have pretty good odds.

Although my impression is that a WL request has to have a specific length (i.e., it's for the entire reservation length or for one specific day), so I don't think they'd carve up your week three different ways. Others may be more familiar on this point.

If I understand correctly you waitlisted for AKV SV and BC for the entire week. Telling them you do not mind a split does not actually have any effect since you can only have 2 waitlists unless they waitlisted you for 2 partials. Call an recheck what you are actually waitlisted for.

Not unless you wait listed just single days. They only fill wait lists completely, not by partial days.

So, if you put in your WL for the entire weeks, one at AKV and one at BCV, those will only fill when the entire week is available.

If you put it in for partial weeks, then it will fill that way. And, once one of the wait lists comes through, it will automatically cancel out the other wait list. If you still want that one, you have to call and add it to the reservation again.

Thank you all. I think I'll just leave it alone and see what happens since we won't be hopping all over the place. I'd be thrilled to have either wait list come through. Although I'm happy to be staying standard at Kidani, so win win.

I guess I wasn't clear. I was just trying to say unless he put in his wait list as just one day for each of the resorts, it wouldn't fill that way.

I know you can't wait list for day 1 and at the same time wait list for day 2, but you can waitlist just the first day of your trip for two different resorts.
