OK, so long story short - in Oct. of 2009 I bought 2 annual passes for my kids using the flexpay option for a vacation that we had planned in December of '09. The passes were not activated until Dec. When my flexpay contract was up this past Oct, I asked them not to renew the contract as I was just going to renew the passes by paying in full to get the discounted rate. Flash forward to just now, after spending 30 minutes on the phone and going through 2 seperate people, I was told that even though the passes themselves are still within the 30 day window for renewal, because I used flexpay i would have had to renew them back in october, basically losing 2 months of use. Now apparently my only option is to purchase completely new APs for them.

I'm so mad right now I could spit nails. As much as I love Universal, they have just lost a family of 4 for at least 5 days a year. I'll still take my wife to HHN, but that's it.

I don't even know what flexpay is.... How do I miss this stuff?

Universal, Busch Gardens and SeaWorld have been doing monthly payments on their APs for years. Now Disney has finally gotten into the game. The only AP I have that I do the Flex-pay on is SW. SW won't raise your payment amount as long as you continue to keep the pass active...no matter what the ticket prices do. I wish Universal did that.

They used too...I dont know when they changed it.

It sucks, but I can understand what they are doing. If you would have renewed in October -- or somewhere in the 30 day grace period after your contract ended -- your pass still would have been good until December of the following year. You still would get two full years out of it, it is just that you had to renew at the end of your first year of payments. When you are dealing with flexpay, your contract goes from when your payments begin and end, not when your activation begins and ends.
