If you've made a reservation recently (new system:confused3 ) that requires a credit card guarantee (Cali Grill, Luau, etc) and are on dining plan you may want to keep an eye on your cc statement. I ended up getting charged even though my reservation clearly states Deluxe Dining. CM not sure why I got charged. "System should not have even been able to process payment" since I was on DDP.

Been on hold most of the morning with MS trying to get my money back!

Moving from DVC- Planning . . . . . . . . ........

When you called to make the reservation did you state to the reservationist that you were on the dining plan?

Not sure how the new system is supposed to work, but traditionally your dining reservations are not connected to your resort reservation. The dining reservationists will not know you are on the dining plan unless you tell them. (I think they're supposed to ask anyway)

The new system is supposed to link your dining to your room reservation. They are asking for your room reservation and can't do the +10 unless the reservation number is entered.

That doesn't mean they have access to all information regarding your resort reservation - I wouldn't assume that they are being automatically informed that you are on the dining plan. I haven't heard that the dining plan reservation is supposed to be automatically viewed by reservationists on the new system, maybe that is a component of it and it just didn't work or they made a mistake.

Yes - I made sure that she knew we were on the DP, and when I called today she saw it on the reservation.

It took almost 2 hours, but I finally got the credit issued. She couldn't just cancel and rebook becuase there was no other availability. She had to get the credit people and the dining people on the phone. I ended up with a new reservation number and hopefully will still have a reservation!

Just a clarification: this might only be an issue for pre-paid shows/meals like the Hoop De Doo, Luau, CRT. It is not an issue for the California Grill, since the credit card "hold" for Cali Grill is only for no-shows/no cancellations. They don't charge the card when you make the reservation; they only check that the card is valid.

We had the same thing happen a few weeks ago. We told them we were on the DDP, linked to our resort reservation.

A few days later, DW noticed the CC charge. She called Disney that night. They had to get approval from the supervisor to issue a refund.

This has happened to us as well - since we are Canadian, we had an exchange issue and it cost us money, so they sent us a $20.00 gift card, as well as a full refund.

Hopefully, people can get it sorted out quickly, as it took us multiple departments to fully handle it.
