Has anyone ever been there? What did you get? The food looks delicious, but there are so many choices, I'm nervous I'd mess up my food. Also, I'm a pickey eater and prefer meat over most vegetables. Will it still taste good if I only include a few veggies? I'm a bit nervous, but it sounds like fun.

So, what do you guys think?

GO!!! It's fantastic fun! I'm a bit of an experimental foodie so I love putting together my bowl, but if you're the least bit unsure they have recipe cards you can use. Oh man, now I'm jonesing for some Mongolian!

I love Mongolian BBQ!!! I haven't been to one in about 20 years. I miss it...

You must go , you'll love it. The best way to do it, is to try to create something you would cook for yourself at home. At worst, if you make something you don't like, you can always start over again.:thumbsup2

So, has anyone tried the "create your own stir-fry" thingy on the website?

Post your recipes!

2 x 3 oz NY / KC Strip
1 oz Carrots
1 oz Corn (Baby)
2 x 3oz Red Skin Potatoes
2 x 1 oz Teriyaki
1 oz Oil Blend (added at the Grill)
3/4 cup Rice
1 Tortillas

I have been there a couple of times. It's not my favorite place, but it's not awful either. They have "recipes" for you to follow, which can be fine if something appeals to you.

But the second time I visited one, the cook guy started bugging me about why I'm a vegetarian (I mentioned it because I wanted my section of the grill to be cleaned off a bit). He wasn't being nice about it, asking because he was curious or anything, he was acting kinda confrontational, probably p-o'ed because he had to clean the grill a bit. What's it to you, dude? :confused3 I doubt I was the first vegetarian to walk into the place.

Mongolian BBQ is one of DH's favorite restaurants. We went to one just a couple weeks ago in Midland, it was right across the road from where we were camping for a few days.

I never follow a recipe card, just make my own. I prefer chicken and lots of veggies, with lemon sauce/pepper.

I made one with a different sauce and really, really didn't like it. I ate about half of it, but couldn't force myself to eat any more and put it aside. That probably happens quite often, actually.

They have a lot of "recipe cards" so hopefully you'll find something you like. If you prefer meat over veggies, I'm sure you could make them with just meat and not add any vegetables at all, or just add potatoes or something.

Hope you enjoy it, it's fun watching the guys cook your food.

We love Mongolian BBQ! We don't go there very often though...in fact, I just got an e-mail from them for a free stir fry for my birthday! Guess where we're going for dinner? lol

I always make about the same thing. I'm not very adventurous...combo of chicken and shrimp, broccoli, carrots, pasta, pineapple, coconut, teriyaki and soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and season salt. Every now and then, I'll do more of a sweet and sour flavor.

DH is much more adventurous though. He'll usually make his own and then for round 2, he'll try one of their recipes. He loves the buffalo chicken recipe!

Yum...now i'm craving it...lol

We went last spring to the one in DC with our college age kids. DD says lunch time is better because it costs less for the same food and is less crowded. (College kid mentality.:rotfl: They lose money on them.) DS doesn't like many veggies so he did a lot of meat and noodles.

Go for it, I think you'll like it.

Mmmmm, your recipe sounds delicious. I didn't know they had coconut there.

We always hit the one in Royal Oak when we're in MI visiting family. Love the concept and the foods really fun and easy to put together. For beginners, they have recommendations posted so that you can kind of follow a "recipe" to get a desired result.

Now I have to find one in our area. I'm sure my DFi will love it if she hasn't already been to one.

We love BDs! Out of all the Mongolian BBQ restaurants we've been to, it is definitely the best, very fresh!

I love the fact that you only include what you want in your meal. I just add a mix of meats and veggies. Always very good.

I love Mongolian! I am also something of a picky eater who doesn't like a lot of veggies. Don't be afraid on not getting your food right, somehow, no matter what you do, it invariably comes out tasting good.

Great, you got me thinking about it and now I'm hungry. And all I have to satisfy me is this stupid yogurt!!
