Why would she want to wear a button all week? They are kind of big and ugly. Besides if you get it on her birthday it will be a nice special ending to the trip.

Wow,:confused3 I was just asking what people do. As I said I was going to wait until her BDay but I thought if she wore it on different days to different parks maybe she'd get siad Happy Brithday by even more CM's and feel even more special.

If anyone else would like to share how they handle BDays, I would love some other input.

if your dd wants to wear the button to different parks on different days then let her. Its her birthday and if it makes her feel special then i dont see the harm in it.

I did not let my DD wear a pin except on her Bday. We have been twice on her Bday week, and both times she only wore it on her actual birthday. She felt very special, and it didn't make her feel any less about herself to only wear it one day. I don't think it even occured to her (or us) to wear it every day we were there.

Thank you, this is exactly waht I was looking for. I just assumed to do it on her birthday only. thanks again

I wasn't being rude. I was asking a question. The buttons are not attractive, and are big. I'd never wear one for the week. And, really, why does someone need a week of "happy birthdays" at Disney. Being at Disney is as special as a birthday could, imo, and do you really want her to have to say to everyone "Well, it isn't really my birthday, but thank you?"

We have only worn the buttons the actual day of our birthday - I am sure others do it different.

Just don't EXPECT a whole lot of things because she is wearing the button. Many of the cm's will most likely say Happy Birthday to her and she MAY get a cupcake with a candle in it if you eat at certain restaraunts (Chef Mickey's has always done that). Unfortunately some people think that they will get a lot of free things because they are wearing the pin and that does not always happen. I am NOT saying that you expect that, it's just that some people come back disappointed that nothing "special" happened when they were wearing the button.

I hope that your daughter has a special day as it is so nice to be at Disney on your birthday! :)

Thank you. I am definitely going to go with my original plan of just doing on on her birthday, I totally agree that it is special enough that we are just going to be there. Your information is exactly what I was looking for. If for some reason it was a thing that people celebrated all week, I just wanted to know. For example, what if in Epcot they all say Happy BDay in their native languages, she would get a kick out of that. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for your honest input and confirmation that just on her birthday is the normal protocol.

who cares when she wearsit? if she wants to wear it all week...let her. There are people that wear the just married and anniversary buttons all week long...different strokes for different folks people.

You might not want more input, but I have some.

If you are celebrating her b'day all week, then she can wear it! They say Happy Birthday, not "it's my exact birth HOUR" or anything like that. Disney wants us to celebrate, and if you want to celebrate her b'day, and if SHE wants to celebrate it all week, why the heck not????

That said, I wore a button to celebrate my b'day at disneyland, the week before (it's when we were there, the trip was for my b'day even though we couldn't go ON my b'day). About half the day all the well wishes were lovely and nice, but then it got old and I took the button off.

We were at DLR for DS's 4th b'day...our first day in the parks was his actual day. Because I mentioned that it was his b'day when making Priority Seating (like ADRs) for Blue Bayou, they gave him a free scoop of ice cream. And he got lots of well wishes throughout the day b/c of the button.

We were going to "hop" over to DCA that day, b/c we love DCA and b/c there's a tortilla factory tour that normally gives out one tortilla per person, but on your b'day you get a pack of freshly made tortillas. But we were moving slow and didn't get over there. So DS and I decided that he could wear the pin the next day at DCA. He did, he got the pack of tortillas, and shortly after he got really tired of wearing the pin, and took it off. He knew his b'day was over and wasn't into celebrating it any longer.

So if you guys want to celebrate it, celebrate it! Just know she might not feel like it for the whole week. :goodvibes

my roommate in college had a birthday MONTH! All month she'd request special treatment since it was her bday month, it was mostly a joke but we'd play along. Like if we were seeing a movie and couldn't decide we'd let her pick since it was her bday month.

My son's bday was on a sat this year. He wanted to take cookies to school so i sent them friday. He got a whole birthday weekend! All weekend he was treated special.

Me, i'd rather skip my bday or even go backwards! However, she is a kid let her enjoy it! Its not like she is going to bankrupt Disney because someone said happy birthday the day before.

So where do you get birthday buttons? We are celebrating DH and niece's bday in WDW this year! I would love to get them one on their big day!

We went last year for my DD's 4th bday. We let her wear her pin whenever she wanted. When people said Happy Birthday she said thank you. If someone asked her if today is the big day we would simply say we are celebrating her bday. Guest Services told us to do that. I had no idea. She got a few cupcakes, a tink pin and VIP line cut to see Belle. Although, we came three times to see Belle and she was not there. A nice CM brought us to her.

I do not think you are cheating WDW out of anything by wearing the button during the length of your trip. There was a couple times when the CM's told her to put it on. I think CM like making people feel special and if saying Happy Birthday brings a smile to a guest face so be it. That is pretty cheap too!

You can get the buttons at Guest Services at the park or resorts.
