We changed our minds a couple times in late spring about whether we should stay on points for a fall trip or save our points for a 2 bedroom stay at HH next summer.
When I finally got around to calling in late May with the brilliant idea of landing a Studio at BCV for October 18 - 25.....surprise, surprise....only 3 days of the week were available....a 4th night actually became available while making the day by day reservation. Day 5 showed up in July.
That left us with Sa, M, W, Th, Fr. We were hoping to get 5 days in a row and willing to stay somewhere else for 2 days. This past Monday we got Tu which allowed us to do the five day thing. I noticed from the boards that AP rates had came out for room only this past week so I was preparing to call member services to verify the last day that I could cancel the Sa night stay without putting the points in the special holding account thus avoiding a cancellation within the 30 day window. And then I was going to call CRO (if I could get a "CRO" person and not a Travel Company staffer) for a room only AP stay for Sa and Su. The paperwork for our 5th night was dated the 12th of August and we did not receive it until the 25th so I was trying to gage when I should make that "last call" to MS before dropping the Saturday.
Well, while I was talking to member services this past Friday, I was verifying a few things about the multiple reservations that had been made and how they were now all rolled into one for the 5 days. She asked what I meant 5 days.....your reservation is for 7 days. Yes, the 19th had come through just 2 days prior with the "paperwork to follow". This is the only DVC resort that we have not stayed and this is our last non summer or holiday trip (boy, have we been spoiled over the years) because because our oldest started kindergarten this year.
Looking forward to a great trip with our 3 boys.
