Right, that's under Florida law -- it's both a Florida and federal offense. The ranger is a federal officer and I'm sure she charged him under the federal law. I think the federal penalties are pretty similar; however, she transferred to another park and we never did hear what the eventual outcome was.

People really don't care about fines. And Disney probably doesn't want people worrying about alligators, plus signs might cause people to search for alligators to feed them. They are probably better off without signs.

If I were going to post a sign, it would just say alligators are wild animals - for your safety, stay away from them.
