BCV villa renovations

At BCV now and we love it. It is definitely our new home resort. My folks are talking about meeting my daughter and I in a few years down here, when she is 5, and woultimately like to stay here. Will the renovated villas have a Murphy bed? Will any of the on bedrooms have two Queens instead of kings? She can stay in a hide a bed or murphy but we'd like to have our own beds.

The studios are getting Murphy beds. None of the concept art suggests the 1BRs will get two queens; I don't think any of the 1BR villas have 2 queens. They typically have a king in the bedroom, a sofa bed in the LR. I don't believe the 1BR at BCV is getting a living room murphy bed. The configuration at BCV for the 1BR is king in bedroom, queen sofa bed in LR, and that's not changing. A 2BR lock-off will have a King bedroom, a Queen-sofabed-murphy bedroom, and a sofa bed LR.

DVC does not do two queens in a 1BR anywhere; it is always a king. The studios will have the murphy bed but the 1BRs are remaining with just the king and the queen sofa. To get a 1BR that sleeps five, you need to get BLT, OKW or AKV (except value rooms) which all have a pull out twin size chair in the living room in additon to the queen sofa, or VGF which has the murphy bed in the living room of the 1 BR.

No. BCV Studios are either dedicated (no internal connecting door) or they connect to a 1 bedroom to make a 2 bedroom lock off.

Only the Polynesian will have any connecting studios. But you are not guaranteed a connecting studio. But the odds are good.

I don't think this dawned on me until just now but basically DVC will be providing bed space for 5 people in a studio but only 4 people in a one bedroom that is twice the size? Makes absolutely no sense.

Well, DVC has priced themselves out of their target audience, so they had to do something to sell their product. And making rooms bigger to get more beds in the living room costs more to begin with, they are left with putting in the stupid murphy bed.

The studios should really only sleep two. That is what it is with Hilton Grand Vacations Club. And it's not two plus an infant. It's just two.

BCV and BWV have pretty cheap 1 BRs, depending on season. Choice season at BWV is 166/213. If you also factor in that the points are much cheaper (resale), I suspect the math works out nicely compared to Poly studios (130/153 Choice), although Poly sleep 5 in the studio to 4 at BWV.

(Too lazy to math this morning to be sure.)

I don't think this dawned on me until just now but basically DVC will be providing bed space for 5 people in a studio but only 4 people in a one bedroom that is twice the size? Makes absolutely no sense.

That's exactly what I was thinking the other day!! Also, the addition of the murphy bed now places a now (IMO) inferior table (& chairs) in an inconvenient place. I very much doubt that families of 5 are booking these studios! I can see having the murphy in the Poly studios as there are no 1-bedrooms, & you may request connecting rooms. I am very glad that the value studios @ Jambo cannot fit a murphy TheIr table & chair arrangement allows enjoyment of giraffe viewing whilst snacking/dining @ the African-carved wood table( maybe moving it a bit closer to the sliding door)

Most assuredly families of five (and five plus one under the age of three) are booking the studios that sleep five. They are a hot commodity on the rental market.

Totally agree. I have seen several posting of people wondering how much room they will have with 5 adults in a studio. No way will that be me- we will book two studios for 4 or more, especially now that the storage has been reduced.

And I agree. That table is the worst.

Honestly my hubby daughter and I mange fine in a studio although I do like the extra space the one bedroom provides. We were definitely more comfortable there.
