Stayed at BCV from May 1-9. We had Room #252, a dedicated 2BR. Resort is shaped kind of like a curved "Y" and I think we were at the bottom of the "Y". Last room at the end of the hall. Long way from elevators. Door at the end didn't really go anywhere because of the scaffolding that closed off the walkway next to BC that goes to the exit next to Epcot. We had one long deck that went the entire length of MBR, 2BR and LR. Partial view of Epcot ball and construction for Soaring. We saw the higher fireworks from Illuminations. Room was in fairly good shape, with a few stains on the carpet and a few nicks on furniture, but nothing more than normal wear and tear. Had to call front desk for a remote for the LR television. Only remote in LR was for DVD player. Everything else was okay. No problems with AC. Water pressure was kind of light. Certainly not what we're used to, but adequate. But you do have to stay in a little longer just to get the shampoo and soap off, so how does this save on water???

Noticed a few people at SAB with wristbands on several days, but most did not have any.

Saturday 5/1: Arrived early afternoon. Room wasn't ready, so we went to the grocery store (Publix) and when we came back at about 4:00 the room was ready. Had dinner at Artist Point. Very good. Friendly staff.

Sunday 5/2: Went to US/IA.

Monday 5/3: Went to Epcot. Light rain in the morning, but it didn't slow us down. Got a fastpass for Fast Track and went right to Mission:Space. I got fairly disoriented and dizzy. We then went right to Fast Track. Had lunch at Le Cellier. I had to eat really slowly because I was still feeling queazy. Felt better by mid-afternoon. Went to the room about 5:00 and back to Epcot for Illuminations.

Tuesday 5/4: Went to MGM till about 3:00. Went to Magic Kingdom for SpectroMagic and Wishes. We had usually watched all this from the train station so we didn't even know that Tinkerbell made an appearance during the fireworks. So this time we watched from outside the circle in front of the castle on the right side (looking at the castle). Tink slides down a wire that's attached to the castle at one end and something in Tomorrowland on the other end. Saw her slide down the wire all lit up. It was great. Will never watch from the train station again!!

Wednesday 5/5: Went to Magic Kingdom until about 3:00. Saw Mickey's PhilharMagic. Great show!! Went to MGM about 4:00 and rode Rock N Roller Coaster for the first time. I do not ride coasters, so this took a lot of courage for me. It was not bad and I might even do it again. It didn't make me queazy like the disorienting rides do. Did TOT several times. Had dinner at 50's Prime Time, then watched Fantasmic.

Thursday 5/6: Went to Animal Kingdom. I never get tired of Lion King show. It's wonderful. Saw the construction of the new coaster.

Friday 5/7: Went to Typhoon Lagoon for first time. Then went to the SSR open house. It is great!! I love the decor there better than any I think. I'm going to post about this in a separate post.

Saturday 5/8: Shopped at DTD and drove to Celebration. Swam and took it easy after pushing it pretty hard the first 5 days.

Sunday 5/9: Had breakfast and left for the airport, which is always depressing for me.

I'll be glad to answer any questions.

Above all, Happy Anniversary!

Looking forward to your report on SSR.

Glad you had a great time! :sunny:

Thanx for the report, goofy4dvc. I know what you mean about those low-flow shower heads. I never understood that logic either.

Hope you had a great anniversary! Thanks for sharing your trip report.

I had called WDW to inquire about a cruise for our anniversay. They must have made a note on our ressie. When we got to our room, there was a balloon bouquet and a picture of Mickey and Minnie with a note wishing us a happy anniversary. Then on the bed in the MBR, there was a box with a Beach Club pin in a jewelry case. Very nice. I need to write and thank them.

Did you have any trouble getting in to see Fantasmic? We haven't gone yet, but have heard it is hard to get into without the dinner package. What was your experience?

We thought it would be nice to go to it when we are at BCV or BWV so that we don't have far to go at the end of the show.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!

westjones: We did not have any trouble getting in to see Fantasmic. We did, however, see a line starting at 6:30 (show starts at 8:30). We went in about 7:15 and got seats in one of the two center areas close to the front. The place holds alot of people. We went on a Wednesday night, so the crowds would have been lighter than on Friday or Saturday. I would certainly try to get in no later than 7:45.

We thought there would be a huge line for the boat back to BCV after Fantasmic. The boat filled up just as we were approaching the dock and we had to wait until the next boat. I expected a much longer wait.

The first time I went (several years ago), we had to stand. That wasn't much fun.

Forgot to mention earlier, but I had waitlisted for a lock-off so people in the second bedroom would have their own hallway door and mini-bar. Waitlist did not come through. CM said that our room was assigned to us when it was reserved several months ago.

I just reviewed a map of the 'y' layout of the resort, your location seems ideal. How did you like the views? Was there any service road?

It was as far as you could get from elevators. If you could get one that would be closer to the junction of the "Y" it would be better. No service road, but a public road, which did not bother us at all. Couldn't hear it when doors were closed. The view was about the top third of Epcot ball and higher fireworks. If you get closer to the elevator you wouldn't have to look over the fenced in utility shed that we did. Don't know what it was.
