This was strange. It was kind of like My toads wild ride. One minute disaster the next great. It started out bad. We boarded the plane and two rotten kids in front of us. Two hours traped. I had to ask God for help twice to prevent me from swatting one of them on the back of the head with a magazine. As we touched down at MCO and started taxiing in I turned my cell phone on and get a text. Its Disney saying our rooms ready. Our room was really nice a one bedroom. Everthing was clean and neat. We went over to the F&W and loved the food hated the crowd. The F&W seems really popular I have never seen Epcot so jammed. The food part we loved the wine tasting we went to stunk. Two of the wines were great the third should be used to clean paint brushes. I will add more tomorrow after a little sleep.

Food and Wine seemed more crowded to me too. We stayed at BCV two weeks ago.

You just made my night! :rotfl: I laughed so hard! Can't tell if you're still at WDW or back, but hope you have/had a GREAT time! :goodvibes

We were also there two weeks ago. Have you encountered the slightly strange elevator yet? One of them (the one on the left) is very slow about opening-closing and everyone on it with us always laughed that it had a mind of its own. We also felt that the F&W was rather crowded-and HOT!

Ok here's round 2. Yes the elevators at BCV are a little strange. The one close to the pool shows the wrong floor. The two main ones have no hands to show were they are. As far as the F&W a few suggested eats. China the xinjiang barbecue chicken was really good. South Korea the lettuce wrap with roast pork and kimchi slaw was great. In singapore the shrimp cake on a sugarcane skewer with singapore noodles was great. We took about 25 dollars each and made a good meal out of trying differnt food. The magic kingdom has a lot of repairs going on. It seemed on every street something was being refurbed. You can really see progress on the work going on behind the castle. We took the train and could see lots of concrete trucks. I can't wait to see it. One place that had really fell off was the market place at beach club. The breakfast choices were nasty. We had breakfast in the parks or at yaht club. We did enjoy two really good meals at the ESPN club. Bus service to the parks seemed a lot better than in the past.

I have to agree with you that the Market Place has taken a dive. We no longer go there as a treat in the evenings. There is nothing there that we look forward to in getting other than the staples that we normally get like bread, bananas, etc. Once they killed the gellato, I lost all my interest and the food they now serve at the little deli looks like road kill (with appologies to roadkill). :scared1:

The doors take forever to close on the Elevator on the left. Hitting the "close door" button has no effect either. A cast member hit the "Alarm" button momentarily to make them close sooner.
I miss the pointers above the elevators on the 1st floor.(shows what floor they are on)

We were there the first of October and I agree about the Marketplace too. We really missed the made to order salads. I even wrote Disney about it.

We were there 2 weeks ago as well :) That left elevator became a kind of running joke among guests because it was so slow.

F&W did not seem too crowded to us, but thats because last year we hit some really bad crowds there. This year seemed a little better.

I have a question. How could you be receiving a text about your room being ready while you were still at the airport? Am I missing something? Don't you have to be checked in at your hotel to receive room ready notifications?

wait

WHAT?

they killed the gellato? as in, no gellato at the marketplace... :faint:

Technically, they can say that they still have gelato. They have a few prepackaged containers of gelato in the freezer case. There's only a few varieties, 3 or 4. No mango, lemon, or pistachio (that last's been gone for years, but I still miss it).

I was wondering the same thing!! :confused3

If you do online check in you may get the text that your room is ready before you've arrived. You still have to stop at the front desk to pick up your key, of course.

Boy, you learn something everyday. I didn't know this. I always do online check in but have never gotten a message before physically checking in.

And the prepackaged gelato in the freezer case is a very poor imitation of the real thing. The Market Place is also a shadow of its former self. It used to have so many good food options. I really miss the made to order salads. But not nearly as much as I miss the gelato!

When we were there in July one of the elevators was so quick closing that we didn't even get a chance to get off. I want to say it was on the right though. My daughter and I laughed about being prepared to sprint as soon as the door started to open.
