BCV Studio Within Two Weeks During F&W?

I didn't have much hope, but I called MS today (9-28) to request a studio 2 weeks from today (10-12) for my sister who has decided to join us for one night at WDW. She lives in Florida & is coming over to watch the Patriots with us at ESPN. I tried to get her a studio in SSR (which is where we own & are staying), but the CM said the only studio he definitely had available was at BCV & he might be able to get OKW, but he would have to call! Needless to say I booked the BCV studio since it will certainly be convenient to ESPN, but I was really surprised they had availability during the F&W & Columbus Day weekend. Of course the fact that I only needed one night helps, but it just goes to show you that you never know what might be available unless you call & ask!

While I have BW preferred view, I'm still on the waitlist for BW view for 10/16 to 10/19 -- hasn't moved since the 7 month window.

That is a surprise. I called last year for mid October for a Sunday night about 3 weeks ahead and nothing was available, any resort, any room size. I ended up booking POFQ (this was before the $95 fee). You may have just hit it lucky when a cancellation came through.

I think you got lucky and got a cancelation done a few minutes before you called.

otherwise they have to go thru CRO to make sure the place has not been rented to a CRO guest.

Since he didn't then you got very, very lucky!

It sounds like the OP is staying for longer than just the one night her sister needs. So I am betting that even if she wants to move, she couldn't get in to BCV or anyplace else this close in! Somebody else has probably gotten the other nights on that cancelled reservation by now as well.

OP, I agree, I think you called at just the right time, to nab something that got cancelled just before you called. Buy a lottery ticket, this is your lucky day!

I got lucky last week...I called on a studio at BCV for 11/7 to 11/11 and there was availability....must have hit it just right. Now the in-laws will be at another resort then us except for the last few days.

Yes you're right, I'm staying at a 2 bedroom at SSR for a week to participate in the F&W & MNSSHP, but I didn't even attempt to get on a waiting list for something closer to Epcot. Anyway, darn I should've bought a lottery ticket. Too late now!

I called today for the second to last week of October. No rooms for any size at any resort, not even for a single night. Not too surprising, but I was hoping to at least get a night or two and fill in the rest with offsite hotels.

I'll be at SSR in a one bedroom next month too! Since its my favorite, its my number once choice (when I get a one bedroom or larger). I tried for OKW to save points but it was gone. SSR had no studios available when I booked this trip back in July. So I was very happy to get my one bedroom. I could also only get one week, I needed ten nights but no such luck. October is one busy month for DVC. I might add, I had my choice of values and mods for my other three nights, I even changed my dates for those nights last week and it was not a problem. So it appears to me that DVC is the only one having major occupany issues right now.

Well.
I am at Disney now. I have a 1 BR from Sunday until tomorrow and had waitlisted for a 1 BR Wed and Thur night. Never cleared.

Called today and was able to add Wed night. Will keep trying for Thursday!
BC itself has a lot of rooms under rennovation. Which means the hotel is booked full since this week!
