Please help me decide. Looking to go in January. Same amount of points (standard view not available) What are the pros and cons at each. TIA.

I like to eat at the resorts.

BCV has easy access to BC and its restuarants. happen to love Cape May Cafe. the marketplace (in the gift shop) is the quick service.

BWV has only belle vue lounge - which I don't even consider a quick service - was too limited.

to get to the restuarants you must go outside. quick service is only broadwalk bakery. so you would be eating several quick service meals in Epcot or whatever you were.

bw has 2 pools. bcv has access to 4 pools - one the big SALB, 1 each at Yc, bc, bcv.

You have access to both regardless of where you choose to stay. IMHO, you can't go wrong with either. However, BCV is a bit closer to the International Gateway to Epcot, but not enough to really matter.

Enjoy your stay in January! :goodvibes

You have to go outside to get to the BC from the BCV too - its a covered portico, but its outside. If its storming, both options aren't great (although BCV is a little better). If its hot, they are functionally the same. Also, there isn't interior access to Beaches and Cream.

BWV has three pools - there is one in the Rose Garden (which is one of my favorite hidden spots at WDW - and its hidden - almost no one uses that pool - I never have either, but I do go into the Rose Garden and read - or just get quiet time).

Personally, I think its six of one, half a dozen of the other. I like BWV a little better, but we own there and therefore always either get the standard view or Boardwalk View rooms. And the kids like the scary clown pool better than they like SAB. Both have convenient walks to Epcot (and slightly less convenient walks to the Studios), you can take advantage of the restaurants at either with a quick walk or boat ride, and if you want to see a movie on the beach at BCV or the BW entertainment, you can do it easily from either resort. BCV has some really nice public areas, but not many people take the chance to use them, while BWV has the underused community hall. I give BWV the edge in decor, but that's a matter of personal taste. BCV is quieter, unless you get the road view like we did in which case I'd rather have overlooked the noisy clown pool.

We have stayed at both countless times, and to me, the most important factor is location, location, location. (yes, I am a realtor;)) that said, I don't think you can go wrong with either resort!

I do give a slight nod to BCV only because as a whole, I just like the Y&BC resort better. We prefer SAB to Luna Park-although in January we wouldn't use them, and we do prefer the restaurants at the Y&BC. Enjoy your stay, wherever you decide!

we own at both but prefer the BWVs.
we find the BC lobby and common areas much more busy and noisy (we also found it harder to sleep because of the all-hours-of-the-night talking/yelling in the BCV hallways). SAB can get very crowded, and it can be difficult to keep track of multiple children (the slide entrance is outside the pool area). our favorite resort in that complex is the YC, which we feel actually loses some of its appeal b/c of SAB.
BWVs has a community hall with video and board games, DVD rentals (free for DVC members), ping-pong, bike rentals, etc.
views are definately better at the BWVs. with a BW view, you can wake up to the sun glistening on the lake with Spacehip Earth in the background :cloud9:, and watch illumination fireworks bursting over the "eiffel tower" each night.
some ppl prefer the close parking at the BCVs, we prefer not to see (or smell:rolleyes1)cars while at our resort. they have improved the security at BWV resort guest lot, so non-resort guests can no longer park there as easily (thank goodness!:)). we timed it to an under five minute walk from the lobby to whereever our car is in the guest lot.

we really enjoy having so many options at our fingertips at the BWVs (jellyrolls, surry bikes, carny games, belle vue lounge, big river grill (yum!), street performers, ATL, bakery, etc) , along with a quiet resort interior and lots of nooks and crannies to read, rest, people watch, etc.
both have easy walks (or ferry) to DHS and EPCOT - the difference in walking distances to these parks is minor.

Have never stayed at BW, but have stayed at BCV studio a few times and love it there. Can say the views from BCV, other than the pool view which we like, are not great. I imagine the boardwalk view is nice. I truly think you can not go wrong with either one.

Other than access to SAB, which we love (can spend hours in the lazy river on a hot Aug. day,)staying at either hotel will give you fairly easy access to the other things like restaurants, gift shops, etc.

Sorry I know my post probably did not help, but I truly think you can not go wrong with either. Since you are thinking January, the pool might not be a great factor for you so then I would go by the looks of the hotel, what decor appeals to you more. We personally like the decor of the BCV better. Good Luck!!

Own at both, stay at both on a regular basis. We do prefer BCV for easier Epcot access and Storm Along Bay. We did recently discover the Garden area pool at BWV and now visit that wonderful secluded area/pool on every trip. BCV gets my vote but not by much over BWV. Yea, scary clown is a factor.

Book pool view at BWV and waitlist for Boardwalk view. That's a treat!
I think the boat dock is nearer to the BWV, and that's a factor for me. I don't consider a pool in January. I was in WDW this past January, right through the 28, and hardly ever went swimming.
