bcv snack area

Are there any snack areas at the bcv or bw where you can get a quick breakfast like roaring forks at wvl ? I am not much for cooking in the mornings.

Do they serve bacon and eggs type of breakfast or just bakery items ? Also is there anywhere at bw or bcv where you can get refillable mugs ? We usually stay at vwl and are spoiled by the all hours snack bar. We want to try bw or bcv for March 2003 trip but aren't sure if we want to do without the snack bar convenience.

BCV has refillable mugs. You can refill them at Hurricane Hanna's by SAB or at Beaches and Cream's take out counter. Be prepared for long lines in the evening.

I believe Beaches and Cream's breakfast was bakery items and fruit, no bacon and eggs. Cape May Cafe has a character breakfast and I overheard a CM telling someone that the Yacht Club has a restaurant where you can order breakfast items - probably not what your looking for though. We were a little disappointed with the dining options. There isn't anything like Roaring Forks where you can just walk up and get your food quickly. The closest thing is probably Hurricane Hanna's, but I'm not sure how late it is open and I don't think it has the variety that Roaring Forks does. It surprised me that the Yacht and Beach Club doesn't have a snack bar when the WL, Poly, GF, and Cont all do.

On the refillable mugs, what is the price for the mug, and then are refills free or is there a refill charge like at OKW?

I think the mugs are $10 (my DH bought them so I'll have to check with him for sure). The refills are free.

The mugs are $10 and are refillable for free. As far as a quick bacon and eggs type of breakfast I have to agree with you. I love the Beach Club, it has always been my favorite hotel and now I am sure I will love the BCV, but it does lack a snack bar type of place. There is Cape May Cafe which is not to be missed, it has a wonderful buffet breakfast, but it is a charater breakfast and it is costly (you can't do it every morning) I do understand that they just re-opened the Yacht Club Gallery, it is a sit down breakfast but it is a little bit cheaper then Cape May Cafe. I hadn't tried this yet, I had planned on it this trip, but there is a snack bar at Swan or Dolphin which is just a short walk called Tubbies Buffeteria.

I heard from a CM that they were considering re-opening a resturant there called Ariel's, possibly with a new name and a new format. Maybe if enouch people let the GM at Beach Club know that we want a snack bar, they might put one in there. The first time I stayed at BC, I wrote the GM a letter letting him know how much I loved the BC and the only thing I felt it lacked was a snack bar!

hi: we don't cook at all on vacation. we usually buy some breakfast items (fruits, cereals, pop tarts or toaster strudels, etc.) and do breakfast in the room. you can have your coffee and breakfast in your pjs or robe while waiting for the others to get ready or just hang out on the balcony. we usually do one or two breakfasts out during the week. once in a while, we'll send one of the kids down to the bakery (my dil will always offer to do this-she's so sweet) for some pastries. it works out well for us.

thanks for all the replies. My DS is a big breakfast eater, especially bacon, so that is why we were inquiring. I got a lot of feedback about bcv, but what about the bw for a snack area and refillable mugs ?

The bakery at BW has an excellent bacon and egg sandwich. In the lobby on the Inn side they usually have a whole assortment of
Bagels, cereal , fruit, danishes etc. Spoodles used to have an excellent buffet style breakfast, but I am not sure if they still have it.

As noted by AnnK, the Bakery at the BW is the best remaining option for a quick breakfast. The BelleVue Room no longer offers any breakfast foods (this is the area adjacent to the BW lobby on the Inn side of the BW) while Spoodles no longer offers a buffet breakfast. The choices formerly available at the BelleVue Room were a subset of those available at the BW Bakery in any case. Spoodles does offer a regular breakfast menu, including an all-you-can-eat skillet breakfast (which is pretty good, IMHO).
