I am new to DVC, buying 210 points at SSR last year, and new to this board. I have recently noticed alot of talk about BCV's popularity. I have only walked around the grounds once and it seems like a great place, plus I have read so many positive remarks about it. I am wondering if I should try and purchase a few points here for the 11 month booking or will I be able to get in at 7 months. :confused3 My family would really only be able to go in the summer due to wife being a teacher and 2 girls in grade school. We did go this past July for a 3 day cruise :worship: and then 6 nights at SSR:) and loved both parts. But I eventually would like to try all the DVC resorts and BCV seems to be the cream of the crop. :thumbsup2 Thanks.

What size room would you be looking for?

From what I can tell, really the only time that is hard to get at the 7 month mark at BCV would be during the Food&Wine Festival (Sept - Oct) or during Flower&Garden Festival (Spring). Also, it is often hard to get a dedicated 2 BR with 2 Queen beds instead of 1 Bed/1 Sleeper Sofa in the second room.

I would think that you should try booking trip or two at BCV with the points you already have. If it doesn't work, or if after a few years of using your 210 points you decide that you would like more points, THEN buy points there.

Just a thought!

I also think you'll be OK to book BCV for the summer months, if you can book right at 7 months.

I hope you get it!

We have been able to get BCV several times at 7 months, just be sure to call promptly on the first day.

Only used our membership once (SSR studio) since we bought at the end of last years trip. I'm guessing we would stay in a studio or 1 bedroom since we only have a family of 4.

We have also been able to book at BCV three times at 7 months out. A great resort.

And 'cream of the crop' is in the eye of the beholder :thumbsup2 ;) .

I called at 7 months...I don't believe on the first day, and waitlisted for BCV and was able to have waitlist come through pretty quickly for upcoming August trip. :)

I was successful in getting BCV for a three night stay (in February, but still!) at the 7-month mark. I definitely would give the 7-month reservation a try before you get BCV points. And if after you stay there you decide that you must have points at BCV (and you want more points overall), go for it!

DH is a teacher, also, and we own points at SSR and VB. We've had no problems booking at other WDW resorts at the 7 month mark (usually 1-BRs).

When I called in March for our August trip, we could have stayed anywhere, except AKV. It was booked. So, we chose VWL for this trip. As a matter of fact, will be there tomorrow!!!:yay:

I agree with the PP. While it's tempting to add points, wait and see where you really want to stay. I've tried to book a 2-BR at VB twice now, and it's been booked. HH is even harder to reserve in June, July and Aug. Because DH, the kids, and I LOVE beach vacations (at Daytona Beach as we speak), we decided to add on 150 points at VB so that we have the 11-month booking window. You may decide to do something similar, or stay at a WDW resort, fall in love with it and HAVE to own points there. With Bay Lake Towers, Hawaii, California, etc. coming, there will even be more options to consider!

SSR is our home resort as well.

We had no problem booking a BCV studio at 7 months out for 9 nights this summer (we just got back on Thursday :sad1: ).

We also went the same time last year for 7 or 8 nights.
