Has anyone been to the BCV lately? How far have the gone withe the "soft goods" refurb? Any idea when they will be finished? Thanks Canadian Tom
Here now. 5th floor appears done and occupied. Housekeeping let me in to see a room today. Looks like new carpet, paint and murphy bed. Not major but seems brighter. Walked through 4th floor and saw no activity at all. Not sure if that's because it is Sunday or possibly they are done that floor.Has anyone been to the BCV lately? So you were able to get onto the 4th floor? It was closed of for construction just a week ago. Here now. 5th floor appears done and occupied. Housekeeping let me in to see a room today. OpenDid you notice if the BCV villa hot tub is open? When we went in October, it was closed the entire week and was so disappointed.
Murphy bed has about a 10 inch mattress on it versus the awful 4 inch ones in the sofas that fold up.ok thanks! Also, I just saw pictures of the retrofit. Can someone explain the difference between a Murphy bed and a sofa bed, what is so great about a Murphy bed? And were they added in the studios or 1 bedrooms. I mean, we pulled out the sofa bed, you pull down a Murphy bed, then collapse it in the morning to use as a sofa, right?

Fantastic, thank you for this.Murphy bed has about a 10 inch mattress on it versus the awful 4 inch ones in the sofas that fold up.
Just read in another thread that the 4th and 5th floors appear to be completely done and no construction started on any other floors. So if you want a refurbed room, ask for 4th or 5th floor on your room requests and cross your fingers. We're going in three weeks. Any one have info on the progress of the room soft goods redo? Thanks
This is the first report I’ve seen of shoddy work (edited to add - shoddy work at BCV; most reports I’ve read have been glowing) - hope you reported it to DVC Member Satisfaction.Just spent a week in a BCV refurbished room, hoping the delay in the refurb was because they were not happy with the workmanship of the contractors! A lot of cheap fixtures (shower heads), and outlets that didnt work (cabinet below tv and on side of the murphy bed)... Refurb looked like a true mickey mouse job
IKR? I thought Poly and BR both were amazing. This is the first report I’ve seen of shoddy work - hope you reported it to DVC Member Satisfaction.
This was only a soft goods refurbishment. The things you mentioned were not refurbished. We stayed in one a couple of weeks ago. New Murphy bed, new Keurig, new drapes, carpet, reupholstered chairs and a new queen bed and frame. Nightstand, undrt tv bedtable, bathrooms, kitchens were not refurbed.Just spent a week in a BCV refurbished room, hoping the delay in the refurb was because they were not happy with the workmanship of the contractors!
