What do you all think about this resale? 100 points at BCV. August use year. Only 16 points avail 2003 use year. 26 borrowed points from 2004 to be used by August 2004 and 74 points for 2004? $70/point.

Sound good?

Why would they borrow points from 2004 when they still had 2003 points available? Annmarie

IMHO, this doesn't seem so good. If you add in closing costs (say $400) this brings your per point average to $74.00 per point (not to mention any maintenance fees for the left over 03 points). I don't know what your current use year is, or if this is a first time purchase, but either way, you can get the same per point price from Disney using their first year buy back program(unless you are new and are only looking for 100 points).

I would bet that they made a reservation with the points for 2003 use year and had to borrow some from 2004 to complete the reservation. Then they canceled a part of the trip and since you can't return borrowed points, here they are. One Dream season Fri or Sat and one Sun. to Thurs. equals 42 points.

You're better off than buying an August use year from DVC but not by that much. If the use year works for you (matches what you have), it might be worth a shot. One thought is this. If there are pending reservations, you may find that they are cancelled and extra points show up in your account since DVC will cancel any and all pending reservations when it is submitted for ROFR. Also, make sure it's the 2003 points and not the 2002 points (ending July 31 of 2003) that have the 16 points. Either way you may end up with more points than you anticipated if you proceed with this resale.
