I know we can't pool-hop to SAB when we'll be at OKW, but are we allowed to pool-hop to the BCV quiet pool? I was thinking it might be a nice way to spend an afternoon, then go to B&C for ice cream!

Everything says we're not permitted to pool hop to Animal Kingdom Lodge, Yacht Club or Beach Club. It doesn't say "Stormalong Bay", which would imply that the other pools would be ok. So, my best guess is NO - we cannot hop to those quiet pools legally.

I thought I've always read "no hopping to SAB". I don't think there is a problem hopping to BCV quite pool or for that matter the quite pools at Y&B.Maybe I'm reading things wrong, but SAB is the only pool that requires a wrist band....so far.

I honestly thought we could hop to the quiet pools, but all the literature does say pool hopping to Yacht & Beach Club is not allowed. I would agree that seems to include the quiet pools. We all know pool hopping isn't allowed because of SAB. I'm sure Disney figures no one would want to pool hop to a quiet pool. I would call the resort and ask them if it is ok for you to pool hop to the quiet pool at BCV.

I haven't seen wrist bands at the pool at AKL, so I don't think the wrist band at SAB means we can use the other pools there.

From the Winter 2002 Vacation Magic - "A reminder: Pool-hopping priveleges are not offered at Disney's AKL and Disney's Yacht and Beach Club resorts." To me that means all of the pools at those resorts - not just SAB.

The Perk Pages (Sep/Oct 2002) talks about pool hopping & says "Sorry, this offer (pool hopping) is not available for Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts (note the plural) and Disney's AKL."

In any event, why would anyone want to travel to an ordinary quiet pool when there are quiet pools just as nice at the other dvc (non-BCV) resorts?

Simple answer: A DVC family (staying at VWL, OKW, BWV, or soon SSR) is at Epcot's World Showcase on a hot summer day. They have swimwear under their clothes or in a tote bag. They exit through the International Gateway to the nearby Beach Club quiet pool or the Beach Club Villas pool, where they relax and swim. An hour or two later they return to Epcot refreshed and ready to stay for dinner and Illuminations.

I'm not saying that there a many DVC familes who would want to do so, but it really should be a legitimate "legal" option for those who so. After all, those who stay at BCV are allowed to pool hop.

Ok - makes sense. Guess those families can enjoy the pools at Boardwalk (quiet or main pool), though. When I used to pool hop never returned to a park with my wet swimsuit - I'd do a park in the morning, hop to a pool, then return to my resort for a shower & get ready for the rest of the day. If I'm in a studio, then it makes sense for me to use the OKW quiet pools to do my laundry while I'm out there ;-)

Thanks! I will call the resort or member services to find out. Because it says "Yacht and Beach", not Beach Club Villas. And since we are DVC members, this would give DS a chance to "check it out" and see if he might like to try staying there sometime. A mid-afternoon rest and visit to B&C.

I went back and reread a couple things. It now does say Y&B, but I know in the past it only said SAB. I don't know if the intent of the wording change was to specifically eliminate all Y&B pools or just an assumption on the part of the writer that removing SAB effectively means all pools because who would pool hop to a quite pool.

My guess is that it was re-worded because many did not know the formal name of 'Stormalong Bay'.
I would think the intent would be to allow pool hopping at the quiet pool. I have visited BCV a few times, and have yet to see anyone swimming in the quiet pool.....

We loved the quiet pool. Our 2BR villa was on ground level and we walked right out the patio doors to the pool. we also spent a day at SAB, but the kids thought the quiet pool was "OUR" pool, because we were the only people in it. they loved it!!

As far as the pool hopping issue, I think the intention of the rule pertains to SAB, but I would ask ahead of time, and I am sure you can ask 3 different people and get 3 different answers.
