Is there only one quiet pool at BCV and is it really "QUIET?"

There is only one dedicated BCV pool. I have never heard it referred to as a "quiet" pool (although the attraction of Stormalong Bay tends to keep the crowds in the BCV pool reasonable).

I have stayed at BCV the last 4 summers. It is normally very quiet. There was a few times it had 20 - 30 people but very quiet bunch of people. Most of the time you won't see anyone or just a few people at the pool. I think most people hang out there for the quiet atmosphere especially after going to SAB. SAB gets VERY crowded in the afternoon!:) So sometimes the overflow come back to BCV's pool.

The words "quiet" and "pool" and "Disney" should never be allowed together. That being said, the less noisy pool is very relaxing. It is usually pretty quiet but children will be children and something about water and screaming go hand in hand.

Thank you for saying that.

I take my boys to the "less noisy" pools because they are less crowded, smaller and I feel it is safer for them because they are beginning swimmers. At the same time we try to be respectful of the other people there trying to relax. The boys know they need to talk in normal voices, not scream and definitely not to splash.

Our last trip to OKW we had someone get very persnickety that our kids and two other kids were at the "less noisy" pool. I think the name of the pool is Turtle Cove; it is the one with the small snackbar and the playground.

Anyway, while the other mom and I were playing with the kids on the steps (all the kids were learning how to swim so they were taking turns swimming to us). We had one woman literally march up to us, snap "either keep these children quiet or leave; they do not even belong here, this is the quiet pool!!!"

I have to admit that the other mom and I looked at this woman, looked at each other and started laughing while we attempted to "apologize". We knew the kids were not being loud and felt it was ridiculous that she had issues with kids being at the pool..especially one that has a playgound right there.

We did see her talk to the CM at the snack bar but no one ever said a word to us.

We frequently stay at BCV and routinely use the "less noisy pool" over SAB. It is a nice pool and many families with kids of all ages and noise levels use this pool.

We stayed at BCV in Oct'05. 90% of the time, my kids were the only ones in it. We mostly swam in the morning or evening. The most I saw at it, was maybe 10 and that was during the afternoon. Pretty Quiet!

is there a hot tub right at the pool? and there is one at Stormalongbay, too, I think?

Do they close the "less noisy" pool at night?

I know that SAB hard-closes, as opposed to other resorts where they post pool hours but don't usually enforce them.

Do they hard-close the hot tubs as well (at the less noisy and main pools)?

The resort motels have "quiet pools." DVC has pools that are available and convenient to all guests. There is no stipulation that children have to go to the themed pools. OKW didn't even have one until the last 18 months! BCV has their pool but guests may use SAB. On the other side of Marketplace is another pool that is not as quiet as the Villa pool. I have a feeling that the pool at the other end of Yacht Club is very quiet. I am able to stand in the BCV pool and read -- sometimes for hours with very little disturbance. It's a little pleasure I indulge in and I do whenever I can -- and I can't do it at home in MN. WHat I don't enjoy about the BCV pool are the ducks that leave their droppings in the pool. I wish they could do something with them! If you are quiet enough not to disturb the people in the rooms, you may use the pools at any time (unofficially). Swimming at midnight in July is a real relaxation. The hot tub is right there too. Unfortunately, Disney knows that people allow their kids in the hot tubs and they keep them cooler than other places.
