BCV pool question

Do all of the pools at BCV have sand on the bottom or are there some without the sand? Also, is the sand around the outside of the pools? thanks julie

I believe it is just the SAB complex that has sand. The "decking" is regular concrete/cement. When we were there in August, the layer of sand was very thin in spots with the concrete coming through.

Only SAB has a sand bottom. There is sand around the outside of SAB in certain places. Particularly down by the family area for small children.

The only pool at BCV does not have sand.

The two quite pools at Y&B do not have sand.

SAB at Y&B has sand on the bottom of the entire pool...... maybe not the lazy river portion. The one section is more like a traditional beach with sand around the edges for kids to play in.

Over at the Yacht and Beach, there are a total of 7 pools. There are the 4 that are there at SAB (don't forget the one at the pirate slide) and 3 quiet pools for the three resorts (Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Beach Club Villas). There are also three hot tubs at SAB and one hot tub at each of the resort quiet pools. The only area with sand on the bottom is at SAB (with the exception of the pool at the pirate ship). There is a large sand dune at SAB which is located at what us lifeguards call a "quiet pool" even though it is not so quiet when the kids are in it. Also in the same area but on the other side of the "quiet pool" is a sandy area where there are some lounge chairs to use. I hope this helps!

FYI--it's not real sand, it's silica, I think that's on the pool bottom at SAB. A lifeguard told me once that they use silica because it feels like sand, but is not organic so it doesn't contain germs or other organisms.

The information that the lifeguard told you is incorrect... It is real sand that is brought in from Arizona. It is a large grain sand that helps out greatly with cleaning the pool.... Also with it being a large grain sand it won't stick to you as much b/c it is much heavier than typical beach sand....

and not sticking to you. With 2 boys I was concerned about sand and all the cleaning we would have to do to get rid of it, as they love to swim.

I also wondered how they kept the inside lobby so free of sand. The sand is large grain and will wash off and sink to the bottom of the pool so you are not carrying it around with you. Although that did not stop my little one from filling his pockets with it and bringing it back to the room.

I was very impressed to say the least! The attention to detail right down to a grain of sand!

The sand at SAB is definitely not like beach sand.
