BCV pool maintenance..every January?

We just got back 2 weeks ago from vacation at BWV. While there, we toured the BCV facilities. We were a little surprised to see half of SAB closed down for maintenance. We are planning our next trip to WDW in Jan 06 and hope to stay at BCV for the first time. Our main reason for staying at BCV will be to use SAB...we will have with us our 3 five year olds who love to swim and our 4 year old and a new addition who will be 8 months old by then. I plan on just hanging out at the pool all day with the baby while the others hit the parks with dad and grandma and grandpa. My question is...is the pool typically closed every January? If there are plans for maintenance when we go, can they tell me when I make ressie or can I find out some other way? When I saw the pool closed I thought how upset I would be if I had been staying at BCV that week. Thanks for the info!

No. I read several posts here from folks who thought the pool was very much in need of maintenance. It is not an annual event.

And, it's worth noting that DVC did a good job of informing members of the maintenance. We were booked at BCV for one night in December. Shortly after word of the maintenance leaked to this board unofficially, we received a letter in the mail explaining the maintenance schedule.
