Does anyone have any new information about the percentage that the BCV has sold already or any new sales figures for the past couple of weeks - is business still as brisk as it was when it was first open for sales?
There are only 8 use year months. Each use year month represents 12.5 % of the total units. When BCV first starting selling they were selling a Feb. use year. In March they started selling a March use year. The Feb. use year did not sell out. So on March 1 less than 12.5 % of BCV was sold out.
Also there were people doing add ons so other use years were being sold. I would estimate that less than 15% of the resort is sold.
Jan, April, July, and Nov are the months which are not the beginning of a use year. Has nothing to do with booking to non-DVC guests. Because any DVC member can go any time of year, saving a use month would be meaningless to determining when non-DVC guests could go. They in fact sell all of the units in the resort; Disney simply retains and never sells 4% of each unit and it is that 4% of usable time that can be rented to non-members.
Otherwise, do not know why those months were chosen although I would guess it had some accounting reason.
I spoke to my guide about a week ago, and they had sold a little over 20%. He said sales were still very brisk, he had a list of over 500 people who wanted to buy BCV, and had only had time to get through about 200 of them so far.
I just got off the phone with our guide as well & she said a little over 20% was sold, but that she felt sales would slow at the time of the price increase... the brisk sales were from the many people that wanted to add or buy in there, that were specifically waiting for BCV's...
