BCV or BWV?

May 2013- we are staying 3 nights in a 2 bedroom at BLT.

Second part of trip we will spend 4 nights in a 2 bedroom at BCV or BWV. Anyone prefer one over the other?

Pros/ cons of each? Anyone stayed in a 2 bedroom at either of these resorts and have suggestions on room number to request? If we stay at BWV, do we need a preferred room or is a standard room OK?

We have stayed in a standard room at BWV in the past and enjoyed it but did not like the fact that there was not a quick service in the hotel.

Any thoughts old be helpful!

I prefer BWV over BCV, but it really depends on what you plan on doing the three days your are staying in that area.

May is a great time of year, with Memorial Day weekend being the busiest.

We own at both, BCV and BWV, but for a May trip, I have always picked BCV because I love swimming in SAB! I've only had a bad, rainy May without swimming once!

Be aware that BWV standard or boardwalk view can often be difficult to get at 7months out. The standard views are OK and not really worse than many preferred pool/garden views. Nevertheless, boardwalk is the best view on site and for my money beats the parking lot (whoops, I mean theme park) view at BLT. Thus, if you can get boardwalk view, BWV would be top choice. BWVs other advantages over BCV are shorter walk to Studios, main pool is right by the rooms, and the restaurants and nightly entertainment are right there on the boardwalk. BCVs major advantage is Stormalong Bay.

BWVs major disadvantage is a bus system that leaves much to be desired for the two parks that it serves. It shares with Swan and Dolphin and has delays far more often than one would suspect is usual. BC shares with YC and is OK but sometimes you get sharing with BWV and S/D in which case it is not good.

The parking lot is fairly close to BCV if you have a car and it can be quite a walk at BWV depending on where you can find a place.

All two bedroom villas at BWV are lockoffs. At BCV, there are dedicated two bedroom villas, but only 25 of them have two queen beds in the second bedroom. The other dedicated have one queen and a double sleeper sofa.

We prefer BCV because of the parking.

Agree it may depend on who is going-if swimmers maybe BCV, if a lot of EPCOT-BCV, if a lot of DHS-BWV. Buses are slightly better at BWV IMO-mostly because 1/2 the BWV rooms are closer to S/D bus stop than BWV bus stop-this means on the return trip from AK/MK you would be first off. And on the trip to AK/MK you will go direct if you use the BWV bus stop.

Both are great and if you concentrate on MK while at BLT-u will have minimal buses the entire trip.

Second bedrooms all have queen plus full size couch pull-out at BWV. There are no double queens in any room at BWV.

No, but remember there are very few rooms at BCV with two Queens and its rare to get one without booking 7-11 months out. They are a booking category

Two Queens is a great reason to buy BCV over BWV if its important to you, but its something to put on your "ask" checklist when booking one or other resorts 7 months out.

For instance, you priorities might be

BCV 2Queens
BWV Standard View
BWV Boardwalk View
BCV 2 Bedroom
BWV 2 Bedroom

At many times of year, you may only end up with the bottom two options seven months out. But you never know, which is why it can be nice to have your preferences enumerated out.

I like BWV over BCV - its home for one thing - so its more comfortable to us. But we like the convenience of the theme pool. I really didn't like strolling through the Beach Club lobby in my swimsuit to get to Stormalong Bay.

A lockoff is just a studio combined with a one bedroom. The door that separates them is opened to make a two bedroom villa. So the studio portion has a kitchenette and a sleeper sofa. There is a bathroom in each section. There will be two entrances to the villa - one for the studio portion and one for the one bedroom portion. The telephones will have different numbers and there will be two thermostats - one for each portion.
