Okay, I need some opinions...I called my guide today to inquire about a 50pt BWV add-on, got some info from him and the rest from all of you wonderful posters..Now, my DH is saying he wants to add-on at BCV because of lower maintenance fees and SAB..I love BWV, yes the pool is nothing to brag about the Boardwalk views are! Also, we would not have a chance at std room points without the 11month booking advantage. Now, I don't know what to do.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I'd say it all boils down to how important the pool is to you. I'm going to need to make the same desicion later this year. i've never been to either location but BWV certainly lookes like a "funner" and more unique atmosphere, at least visually. Plus they do have the standard point values, which is a great option and the boardwalk views do seem awesome. On the other hand, SAB pool does look pretty amazing. If I had to choose right now, I'd probably go with BWV simply because our trip style doesn't spend a huge amount of time hanging out at the pool. We'd rather spend a day at the water parks or something. But that is just our style. Plus, we can always try trading for BCV at 7 months for an occasional stay and stormalong bay experience...

For a 50 point contract, I wouldn't let maintanence fees influence the decision. what does the difference actually come out to? $15 bucks a year or something...?

That is true but if you are happy with Standard view...you can make your points go further. It is really a personal choice-I love BWV(I like BCV-and am always thrilled to stay there too). I also love the Broadwalk view, the verticalness of the hotel(BCV feels like condos -really nice condos- to me), Christmas at Broadwalk is stunning. I like the marketplace better at BCV, but BWV usually has everything I need. I think it will be harder to get std view as more and more people join DVC...but time will tell. If you travel at really busy times it might be hard for you to get into BCV...but I have gotten in 2 for 2 times. I have not been able to secure standard view points on 2-2 trips.

Everyone swears to buy where you want...Good luck I am currently on the BWV waitlist for Feb YU....popcorn::

Well, we have an Oct YU, so we'll see what happens. My DH loves SSR so why can't I have BWV...:)

Tell DH you want to be my neighbor:rotfl: ...CHRISTMAS...is my big reason. I have been sitting here figuring out my trips through 2010, March 08 BWV, Christmas 08 BWV/VWL, March 09 OKW/BCV, March 10 BWV and poss a Thanksgiving or Christmas trip too(or do a 1 bedroom at BWV in MArch). After that my boys will be in 6th grade and will be switching out of a private school...but that's a whole 'nother thread.;)

Good luck. How much time does your DH spend at SAB....

We own at both and love them both for different reasons. Maybe you can cut a deal with your dh....BWV add-on this year, BCV add-on next year.

Also, you said you love the Boardwalk views, but keep in mind you won't get anything near there with a standard room reservation...those overlook the front driveway. But with only 50 points you can certainly stretch them much more with BWV's standard option. SAB is better is the warmer months, so check out the points for when you're most likely to travel and see if 50 points is going to be enough.

Tell me about it, I am always planning a trip. We are going in November and I am already planning for March and Dec 2008!

Well, I want 50 pts to be able to make a BWV ressie at 11mos every other year or so...I'm trying to take baby steps here at owning BWV. My DH loves the condo feel and I like the beautiful hotel feel. We did a split stay last Christmas at SSR and BWV and I could have just cried when we had to leave BWV for SSR..The Christmas decorations were just gorgeous.:goodvibes

We own at BW, but have stayed at BC, SSR and OKW. Between BC and BW, I prefer BW, but I think my reasons are just a matter of personal preference. Last summer, I could look out the window of our BW villa and see Spaceship Earth. I like the food selections better at BW. I don't really care that much about the pool.

Boardwalk has been our Home Resort for 8 years and we love it for the location. 10 minute walk to Epcot or MGM !
We have been thinking of an add on for a while. What's the wait list like at the moment ?

Phil

I own at both BC and BW. The BW is my favorite, and I usually end up using the BC points elsewhere (OKW or AKV in Sept).

I love the theme at the pool, with the elephants and bright colors. I enjoy the standard views (longer or more frequent trips). I like the pool bar--it's actually at the pool, unlike Hurricane Hanna's, which is near the pool.

SAB, for me, is OK. I think it would be difficult to watch kids swimming there, as it's so large. And Keister Coaster is so cool!

Either way, you'll be at a great resort. It's just personal preference.

I choose BWV over any of the others after my first stay there last spring. I came home and was on the phone with my guide the first week. I'm thrifty with my points and try for standard view for all of my reservations there whether at the 11 months using BW points or 7 months using my SSR points. I knew there was no way of getting BWV standard in October or early December unless I was an owner, so bought points there last year. We are walkers and lover the fact that we can walk to MGM and EPCOT easily from the BWV. I had no problem getting my standard view room for 2 weeks in October at the 11 month window and what a relief. So now use my BWV points for my October trip and use my SSR points for my Feb, May, August trips. It's a great combo that works great for us......at least until the CRV, and I'll be in line for that one for sure.

Its all about BWV with me my son likes the Luna Park pool enough and the BWView is a must, its just a great resort that everyone in my family and extended family loves. If you don't want to have to spit stays again you might consider selling your SSR and buy all BWV. It was a tough choice for me since the BWV expire 12 years earlier and I was 25 when i bought my points but it is worth it if you dont want to stay at SSR.

People are selling their contracts all the time, either directly to new buyers on the resale market or sometimes directly back to Disney when DVC excersies ROFR. DVC then has these points available to sell.

Can you still add-on at BCV or BWV through DVC? I thought they were sold out.
