We often do a non parks summer trip to Disney. We visit MIL in St.Augustine and then to give her a break, we go to Disney for a few days. We did AKV this past year, but as many have said, it is a bit far from everything. Dont get me wrong, the kids loved the pool, slide and there was enough to do throughout the day that it wasnt an issue.

I was wondering just how crowded SAB gets during the days in summertime? I realize you cant pool hop there, but if we stayed at BCV, will we feel like sardines in the pool all day long? We like the proximity to Boardwalk and even walking over to the edge of Epcot to see part of Illuminations...

Your opinions are appreciated.

We did a few days this past August and did not think it was too bad. I think it is great place for non-park trip. We had split the trip between BC and BW. We also pool hopped over to the Poly one evening to swim and watch the water pagent and fireworks.

It's crowded, but the summer is the best time to enjoy BCV! There are movies on the beach at night, the Boardwalk is right there to enjoy, and there are good CS places close by. I wouldn't hesitate to book a summer vacation at BCV, especially if I weren't doing any parks.

Thanks for the info.

We thought it might have a bit more to do as our kids are getting older (13,12 11).

They have talked about going to this resort for a long time, this one might have to be a surprise!

I don't think the pool itself gets too crowded. Sometimes it is hard to find a lounge chair but then we usually are in the area closest to Beaches and Cream which I think is one of the most crowdwd areas.

They do a good job monitoring people. It is busy, but not cramped. I agree with the other poster, Late May - Sept it is the best bet best resort for kids.
