BCV for Food and Wine

We are looking at getting a points transfer of BCV points for Food and Wine 2018. I understand that we would have to call MS to book. What are the the chances I will be able to get a studio with that 1 hour delay vs. online?

Those charts are from 2015. I would expect you to be able to get a studio at 11 months + 1 hour, but maybe not 11 months + two weeks.

Well, I booked at about 9 or 10 months out for this October and got studios at BCV. So you can wait and book just depends on the week.

Columbus Day might be an issue, or if it pushes into November/Jersey Week.

I used BCV transferred points for a bunch of studios and a 2-bedroom lockoff in 2016 (for our wedding) and another studio for 2017 with the leftovers. Both years were right after Columbus Day. Obviously things can change year to year, but unless it's the holiday weekend or Jersey weekend as others have mentioned, you should be fine.

BCV really doesn't have the booking issues that other resorts do where it's gone right at 8am at the 11 month window. I would not worry about 11 months + 1 hour.

BWV has lots of demand because of the low points required for a standard view room. BCV seems to have studios available for longer, but not likely into 7 months during Food & Wine.

A bit OT, can you tell me how you accomplished getting so many transfer points? Was it overly complex? I will need three 2 beds for Oct 18. (Or Ill stay at home resort no prob but BCV would be amaze since its for F & W).

I found a member with 400 points to transfer. It was split over 2 years of points so I banked the first years set and made sure those were used first. My uy is october. I think it was Feb 15 and Feb 16 that I got.

Good points. You cannot borrow transferred points, but you can bank them.

You should be fine. I own at BCV & book there every year over Columbus Day. This year I booked a 1 BR at the 11 mo. mark because I thought a couple family members might come. They decided not to so a few weeks after my 11 mo. booking day I called & switched to a studio. Had no problem making the switch. Book as soon as you can but don't sweat it.

If you are referring to the 11 month window, then, for the past five years, BCV studios have lasted at least one day beyond the 11 month window for all times between late Sep and marathon weekend in Jan. For most dates, they were still available at 10 months out.

If you are referring to the 7 month window, then studios, except for possibly a stray day here and there, are usually gone during that same late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan period before 7 months out, although you can sometimes get lucky for three or five days in a row during the time in November that is between the end of Food Wine and the Friday before Thanksgiving, the time starting the Sunday after Thanksgiving to Nov 30, or time between Dec 15 and 22. Moreover, the one hour online versus phone difference can mean, at 7 months out, the difference in getting a BCV studio and not getting it if it is open during that time.
