BCV - Dedicated 2BR versus 1BR w/lockout?

I'm curious about the differences in these two types of units. I realize the lockout would have a small kitchen and lock off from the other room. Beyond that, is there any reason I would NOT want a lockoff? Is it smaller than the dedicated 2BR? Does anyone know?

My preference is a dedicated 2BR, but there's something to be said for the idea of having a lockoff and being able to "sneak" in or out without having to go through the main living area and waking someone up.

I'd love some feedback.

Thanks!

Dedicated 2 BR has 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom. The lock off has the kitchen area and one queen with a sleeper sofa. The studio also has an extra entry.

We have always had lock-offs and actually like th extra living space rather than the two beds.

Sometimes people like a lockoff so their children can't leave the room since there is no door in the 2nd bedroom.

At BCV, all dedicated 2 BRs do NOT have 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom. You have to specifically book that, and it's usually only member bookings that get those. Some dedicated 2 BRs at BCV have a queen and a sofa bed in the 2nd BR.

There is more space in the dedicated as well since it does not have the 2nd kitchenette.

We're not DVC owners, so we wouldn't get the 2nd Queen bed in the 2nd bedroom anyway, unless by fluke. Besides that, are there any other compelling reasons?

We own at BCV and we've had both. No, no compelling reasons why one would be better than the other. We are fine with either one.

The second bedroom in the lock off should have a separate balcony from the rest of the villa. So with a lockoff you'll get at least two separate balconies. A dedicated may have a single small balcony or a larger balcony that connect two of the three or all three rooms.

We've had a one bedroom without a balcony off the master bedroom and only off the living room.
