BCV check-in question?

Hi, folks...

Is BCV still checking folks in in the villas lobby rather than in the Inn lobby?

We arrive mid-day Friday and while it certainly won't "kill us" to go to the wrong place first, it'd be handy to know whether to head into the main lobby, or into the DVC lobby...

Thanks!

Happy New Year!!

DVC lobby until 6:00 PM.

On a side note... I hate the new check in. We stayed at the BCV two weeks ago. The CM's are not trained properly and appear to be inexperienced. They can't seem to do anything on their own and every question resulted in them making a phone call to someone. Even though we had requested a courtyard view they assigned us three different rooms trying to decide what a courtyard view was. They did seem to enjoy offering the guests apples. I didn't really understand the apple thing, but every couple of minutes the CM would ask if we wanted a apple. While checking in, (it took about a hour total), the CM asked a guest waiting in line to check in if he wanted a apple. After about three apple offers the guest said, "I don't want a apple, I want my room". A few minutes later a different CM walks up and says to the guest, "would you like a apple"? I thought the guest was about to explode.

I was told by a CM at the regular check in that we can still use them if we want. Apparently the reason for the DVC check in is to reduce delays during busy times. Doesn't seem to be working. :sad2:

I had a GREAT experience when I checked in at the DVC lobby in October. There were only 2 couples ahead of me on line and I had my room in less than 15 minutes. The CM's seemed VERY experienced and handled everything promptly & efficiently. I even complimented them for making check-in faster and much less crowded.

They weren't offering apples in October, though. Maybe the CM's themselves wound up eating all the apples because the guests checking in didn't want them and the resulting massive apple consumption wound up slowing down the CM's performance!

Best wishes,
Dave

Our check-in on Spetember 29th was pretty slow. Thankfully, we were the only ones there to check-in. I must admit that they were more friendly and really worked at finding us an available room. No apples were offered. But it did take over 30 minutes to check-in.

Checked in about noon on Sunday.
No problems.
No wait.
No apples.
Room wasn't ready, but they called my cell phone about an hour or so later when it was.

:rotfl2:

Well who took all the apples then??? I like apples!! :rotfl2:

Good to know there are options -

We were there in Mid-December....check in was very quick, they found us an Epcot view room on the 4th floor at about 1:00 (could see both Epcot and MK fireworks), and there were apples for the taking (but they weren't pushing them -- they were in the breezeway in a bowl).

Did all of you guys have requests beforehand?
I am afraid at checkin that if I start requesting stuff it will kill my chances of getting a room right away. Am I right or not? So far we are 3 for 3 in getting a room at checkin before 4pm. Any hints out there?

I never request anything. Well, I did non-smoking in the past. And just to let you know, in 10 years I have only had to wait for my room 3 times out of about 15 or so trips. And two out of the three times I only had to wait until around noon. The one time I had to wait past 5pm was when I did ask for a Boardwalk view at BWV. I think that making requests on views and locations sets you up for a wait. But that is just my opinion.

Hey, I feel left out-they never offered me an apple! I've checked in under the "new" way (at BCV) twice. The first time went fine. The second time one CM kept having to ask the other CM how to do every step. Maybe December was training/switch-over time for college-program CMs. Also, December was the first time my woods view room was in the area that's always been Epcot/road view. The CM insisted that was the woods view.
