We are just 2 weeks away for the 7 month switch. We would like to stay somewhere different. We like to swim and use the slides and hot tubs. We do not spend all day at the park. We spend part of the am and then come back to the resort and then go back later. Which should I choose?

Although I love VWL, the WL's main pool slide is nothing special. The Hidden Springs pool nearer the DVC wing is small and quiet which I enjoy, and there is a hot tub next to it. The only pool bar is back at the main pool, but that's all of about a one minute walk away. I prefer a bit more serenity after leaving the parks, so VWL works wonders for me: I run along the trails, you can rent a bike or boat, sit on the beach at night, or enjoy a great meal at AP. The boat ride to/from MK is quite enjoyable, as well. The other resorts you mention tend to be closer to the "action," but that's not as important to me as the theming and sense of being a bit removed from the hustle and bustle.

Monorail access for BLT is sweet.

The pool is a bit on the small side, but the walk to the contemporary pool isn't bad.

As with any resort choice, they all have their pros and cons. The best thing to one person can be the worst thing to someone else.

We haven't stayed at VWL or BCV so I can't comment on them.

We have stayed at BWI (not BWV yet).
  • Great access to DHS, Epcot, Swan, Dolphin, and YC/BC.
  • BW area for restaurants and entertainment.
  • Fireworks close by (DHS and Epcot).
  • Great for afternoon breaks from both DHS and Epcot.
  • Night time activity.

At BLT...
  • Two pools with slides. BLT is the small pool, CR is the large pool.
  • Extra activities include the beach, boats, Electric Water Pageant every night. There's also the cabanas available.
  • Great access to CR, Poly, GF, WL, and MK.
  • Convenient to go to dinner at any non-MK area hotel, just walk to MK bus area and take a direct bus.
  • Great for afternoon breaks from MK.
  • While some people do not like the monorail ride back from Epcot to BLT, we like to hop off at the Poly and get a self serve Dole Whip.
  • TOTWL

would start with the parks.

which one are you spending more time at on this trip>?

MK and Epcot - BLT or VWL

Epcot and Studios - BCV or BWV

then you say you liked slides
BCV does not have one - but it shares with BC/YC - SALB - and this is probably the best pool on WDW resort property.

for MK area - would go with BLT (now also love VWL) - but the views from some of the rooms at BLT are special. the slide at BLT is small and fast.

to me it is not fun to be at an Epcot or AK and want to spend alot of time at MK - better to be at a MK resort.

same for Studios - if you are spending alot of time at Studios - then definitely go with a Epcot resort.

BLT because you can access the monrail is almost as good as walking back to BWV or BCV - but not quite.

Whatever you can get. You're hitting marathon time and that could make it tough.
